Dananeer Restaurant Sea Food & Steak House — Restaurant in South Sinai

Having visited this restaurant for over 20 years when we are in Sharm, it fact we look forward to it and travel there even if we are not staying in Naama Bay. We were extremely dissapointed when we visited there last night from Nabq Bay. When we arrived in the restaurant last night at 6pm we were the only ones there. We ordered our drinks and the waiter then stood at the end of our table huffing and tutting pen poised trying to hurry us to order. We said to give us a few minutes but he just stood there. We explained that my husband has a tomato allergy and that he wanted just steak and french fries and no vegetables, something he has had many times before. When his food turned up there were chunky chips not french fries, vegetables and tomatoes on his plate. What was even worse on both our plates someone had written 'love you❤️' in tomato ketchup. So tacky. We asked the same waiter if he could change my husbands food (chateau briand) due to the risk of contamination from the tomatoes. He took the plate with an impatient sigh and was back with it within minuted on a fresh plate claiming it was a new meal.....minus the french fries we had ordered. We left very sad that our favourite restaurant in Sharm for over 20 years had let us down so badly in part due the service and attitude of one...

What can I say ,apart from wow I travelled to sharm El Sheikh for a 10 day holiday, before leaving Britain I use TripAdvisor to find places to eat and this was top of the list and I looked at the menu and also other reviews, so impressed I said to my partner we most make this a trip just to check it out and does it hold up to the excellent reviews people had left .And YES, it does and more. I have eaten steak all over the world, and I'm not lying when I say this is the best steak I have ever eaten, Muhammad said the meat was fresh in that afternoon. After looking through the extended menu, I chose the t-bone and smoke salmon starter . My partner had a filet steak with peppercorn sauce, which was beautifully cooked to how she wanted it. The hospitality at dananeer is excellent. Nothing was too much trouble even taking us to the shop downstairs and even got us a discount on our purchases.

This establishment is highly highly recommended as a must go to on a holiday to sharm El Sheikh naama bay

My friends and I went here for dinner on a Friday. We used to come here a lot until about 12 years ago.

We were served by a very friendly and helpful man.. 5 stars for him.

Unfortunately the food didn't match the service. Seafood in cream sauce.. the sauce was like flour and water paste and lots of it, drowning the seafood.

Grilled prawns were in a bland butter sauce... some herbs or garlic would help a lot.

Steak in Beumaise sauce just didn't taste like Beaumaise sauce.

My sea bass Amanda was undercooked and transparent.. I just couldn't finish it.

Mozzarella and tomato salad was a long long way from Caprese. The Mozzarella was shredded Mozzarella that you would use for a pizza.

We complained politely and our nice waiter offered us some 'Egyptian fruit' to say sorry. This was also not entirely pleasant and he seemed disappointed that we hadn't eaten it. He then offered us free tea and beer, but we just wanted to leave by then.

Not sure how Dananeer has lost its way since we used to frequent this place. I'm hoping they were just having a bad night and someone was covering for the chef. I don't think we will ever...
