DON’T COME HERE!
Still waiting for them to refund us money.
It’s 21 December 2021. We booked the largest room in the hotel through booking.com and on arrival they made us pay for the entire stay (5 nights) up front instead of simply holding the bill on our Visa card like most normal hotels. According to the refund policy, after the first night we could cancel if we needed to leave (this was during Covid-19). An urgent matter arouse and we needed to leave on the 24th and notified them well in advance. The accommodations were not what we booked and prepaid for this stay. The hotel agreed to refund the last 2 nights of the stay upon checking out and leaving the hotel on the 24th of December. The desk agent agreed the night before our departure to have a taxi ready for us to make a train connection and refund our unused nights (which were fully payed up). Upon departure there was no attempt to get us transportation to the train station and the desk agent was mysteriously unable to refund our credit card. She actually had us write down our bank account and routing number, promising to wire the refund owed. A month went by without the money being refunded or a phone call/email explaining the situation (the hotel had our contact information). In February we contacted the hotel to inquire as to why there had been no refund. Once again they requested our bank account number and the international routing number. Once again they were given that information. We waited patiently for the refund that never arrived. During one attempt to resolve this over the phone we reached the same desk agent to no result.
We returned to the hotel that spring when on business nearby. The same desk agent was on duty. She recalled nothing about the entire incident and got visibly upset when we attempted to resolve it. The situation escalated to a loud argument (all the guests were visibly shocked) and we asked for her supervisor who could not be produced or reached by phone. Once again we were instructed to contact the hotel via email and that the hotel accounting department would contact us.
This was the most unprofessional contact we have ever had with any business, certainly in Estonia and Europe. The entire experience leaves a stain on this hotel chain’s reputation. We will definitely never give this hotel chain our business again, and we advise the same to all...
Read moreI had a confirmed reservation at Fonnental Design Hotel for June 3–4, 2025, booked through Booking.com in September 2024, well in advance. The hotel changed management in November 2024, but instead of reviewing previous bookings at that time, they waited until May 2025—just one month before my stay—to tell me my reservation would not be honored.
Even worse, they asked me to cancel the booking myself, despite rooms still being available on the same dates at significantly higher prices. It’s clear they’re taking advantage of high demand (due to a local concert) to resell rooms at inflated rates. This is incredibly unethical, unprofessional, and shows a complete disregard for guests who booked in good faith.
The hotel’s lack of communication, refusal to offer a fair solution, and financially motivated behavior reflect very poorly on their management. I would strongly advise other travelers to avoid this property, especially if you’re booking in advance or during a busy period.

Read moreI had a lot of troubles with this hotel. First of all this was my business trip, I had voucher from my company with info about reservation. There was: double room with breakfast. What I get: single room, also I had a lot of discusions about breakfast, because recepionist sed that it is not included. I do not know why, but later she gave me the voucher for breakfast. Secondly, breakfast is from 8 oclock, I can not get it, because of this you should take away, because I need leave hotel at 7:30. I was there for a week, jus one time with a breakfast bag recioptionist gave me a tool for eating.. it should be included. Also one time I was asking for crosan breakfast (there is possibility like that), but took it and there were just 2 slices of bred. Two of fours receptionists were really rude. One of these-guy was always this air pods. Then you say: hallo, nobody is in here 🙃 just no politeness.
