Hands down, absolutely the best restaurant in Kadriorg area.
Location: The restaurant is located on a quiet street in the loveliest area of Kadriorg. Has a lovely and green backyard which you can see from inside when seated by the window-edge seats. A happiness inducing spot.
Intolerances: For those with food intolerances, it's marked on the menu and there's great options. So you are welcome and not forgotten here.
Food: Food is extraordinary. They have a small and excellent menu with wide range of different tastes and selections anyone can relate to. Absolutely fantastically served dishes, great combinations of wine and selections of drinks available.
Service: Incredibly kind, professional with great attire and multilingual. As it should be in Europe.
Atmosphere & Crowd: A great Nordic decor, with a "your own home" feeling, playlist of calm Jazz playing in the background, no odd colors or strange elements distracting or standing out. Attracts a quiet, respectful, well dressed and great attire crowd. Upon first sight you would think the customers are guests in your own home.
From the looks of it, this place will be incredibly in demand and steal all of Tallinners hearts in a very short period of time. Consider calling in for a reservation ahead of time. You won't be disappointed. Overall, an exceptional restaurant with amazing service. Wishing I could...
Read moreWe started with house bread which was fine. However, later we asked if they can warm it up. Caramelised butter with warm bread was totally different taste. The butter melted on the bread which melted in my stomach with the same pace.
My main was beef hanger steak with gnocchi/truffle/caramelised onion/madeira. Just delicious ( don't forget to have wine on the side), in one point realised that the food is over. It was a sad moment. I could eat the steak another 10 minutes, still would enjoy it. However, I am not sure my stomach would able to cope with my eating habits.
Later as a desert had Pastamisu, which seems like tiramisu, however it was totally different thing, maybe similar. For me after steak it was a great final touch. Imagine icecream with tiramisu.
We had Valrhona chocolate/almond/coconut/cherry too. However, if you aren't into chocolate that much maybe it wouldn't be for you, otherwise the taste is super good too. if you are vegeterian from main you may order Fregola tostata/wild mushrooms/seaweed/trout roe without trout, according to my sources it was super good too. #etibarIsIndependent...
Read moreI really wanted to love this restaurant, and was looking forward to my visit. However, issues began at the time of our seating at the table. We had to wait sometime to be noticed and then to be seated at our table. We then had to wait unreasonably long for the menus. Mind you, the restaurant was filled to around 35% at the time, and it was a Wednesday night.
Further, the overall service was poor, it was impossible to grab the attention of the waiter so the only chance we had to ask for something was then he was bringing out our food. We also caught him rolling his eyes at us on one instance, maybe even more than one. Specifically, when we requested the menu to choose desserts and one of us kindly reminded him of the dessert that they had ordered with their initial order in the beginning of the evening, just to make sure that it would not be forgotten.
The food was quite nice. The only issue with the main course was that our steaks and fish were cold, while the garnish was warm.
Sadly will not be...
