Have already left one very positive review couple of weeks ago after having a wonderful fondant cake with coffee and champagne at this place, but unfortunately after having a dinner there last night must change my opinion. Though we liked the taste of ordered food (aside from the fact that my plate/dish was rather cold) and visually it looked very inviting, all portions itself reminded us of children's menu. If i hadn't stuffed myself with a huge piece of cake after already having a first and main courses, i would be forced to stop by pizza restaurant around a corner. Cutlery were brought in a ceramic plant pot which were simply put on a table, as if we are in a buffet with self service. Considering the prices in that restaurant, I'd expect at least a proper service, where i wound't have to constantly remind a waiter to remove dust or reservation sign from a table, before we even take a seat. He served us desert before cleaning up from previous course, there were no place to put arrived plates at all, so he literally squeesed them in between the durty ware. It's a shame to save on a service staff. Must admit that the first and second times we were served by a very pleasant young lady, who seamed to know what she is doing, i guess its a matter of luck. It was actually my birthday dinner this time, which turn out to be a disappointment. I'll put it this way,- for coffee and cake TOP, but for dinner FLOP. KInda pity though. I live just around a corner from that place and was really hoping it would become my favorite reagular place to go for a bite with my family and dog, since it is a dog friendly restaurant, but now i'll think twice before entering these doors. I always tip in gastro, this time i only left a half of tips from what i actaully...
Read moreIt used to be my favorite coffee place in Kadriorg since childhood but lately it is just not nice. The pastry choice became very poor, often when you come there between 10-11 am they have only yesterday leftovers. After becoming the part of the hotel the place became less cozy and their bathrooms are often really dirty. It seems that the stuff has also partly changed, and the new employees don t seem to bother about customers at all. For instance, today when I visited them the girl did not speak Estonian (though it is a not a problem) , she started to speak to us in russian instead and was rude and unprofessional. It took us around 14 minutes just to buy two pastries, as she didn t know their price and didn t know the program. We asked her, if it was her first day, but she responded that she has been working there for more that a month. My question to the owner is: How much time does it take to learn the prices and to be nice to the clients? I live in Kadriorg and used to come for a breakfast or a cup of coffee at least 3-4 times a week. Not anymore. Luckily Faehlmanni kohvik still has delicious breakfasts and...
Read moreThis place has been one of my favourite cafes for many years but recently the level of service and genuine care for customers has really gone down. Coffee is still really good and the Hungarian girl that works for you is such a gem!
However I went twice this weekend and maybe itâs just a weekend thing since it was busy and waiters were really stressed out. But me and my family didnât feel welcomed and noticed. Had to ask for the menu (even though sitting down for a while), had to ask if Iâm able to order from the counter, then was directed back to my table to wait. The other day again had to go and ask if weâre able to order after waiting for a while and then the waiter said âWe will try to come to your tableâ. Went to pay at the counter while there were only few ppl at the cafe, 3 waiters behind the computer and no one took any notice that I was standing in front of them, so the barista finally had to tell them âHey guys a client!â. Iâve worked in hospitality and know what understaffed and stressed out places look like. And Iâm really sorry this has happened to this place. Really hope it...
