Update June 15, 2019 - Tried to checkout at 9am. Computer at front desk is down. No paperwork can be found. I showed front desk how to look up my bill. After we agreed on the amount I paid and asked for a paper receipt. From desk says we'll mail it tommorow. My response was no, you'll give me a paper receipt because if I can't trust you to check me out, I can't trust you to mail a receipt. Magically the printer now works and I have a cobbled together receipt for my business expense report. Final thoughts, the amount on the receipt and the amount charged to my credit card don't match. I don't have the energy to try to get it corrected. Only took an hour, for me... Ineptitude and Chaos. Update June 11,2019 - Hotel read my review below and reached out to apologize. I guess it was easy to figure out it was me based on events. I requested that they focus on training all the personnel and use my comments as a place to start. Nothing else. This hotel is in a great location close to food, shopping, busses and rail to anywhere in Paris you want to go. My room is just the right size and the traffic / pedestrian noise from the traffic circle isn't too bad with the window closed. The Wifi is free but has very high latency. If you're on business, try the Novotel if you have to get any work done from your hotel room via a corporate VPN. Based on my experience with travel to every continent except Antarctica, this is a 3-star hotel, at best. Today ( Jun10, 2019 ) I get a parade: First - around noon there is a light tap on the door then it opens and a louder knock...some guy wants to turn my room lights on and off. Went to the desk and they are saying he wouldn't come in if no one answered. If that is true, why did he open my door? Then around 4pm ( same day ) housekeeping comes back because I guess she forgot something and had to look in my room for it. WTF? I got less foot traffic in my room on a cruise ship. I'm not sure I feel safe here, much less leaving anything of value in the room. It's supposed to be a holiday in France, I guess my hotel room is the place to be in...
Read moreHotel Paris Neuilly is okay. The bedroom is fine and we slept well (although breakfast is very loud in the morning and we were on the 5th floor, so if you're on a floor below that I'd prepare to be woken).
We had a bad start as none of our cards were accepted by the hotel for a security deposit despite us trying 3 cards and seeing that they'd taken £1 off each of our cards when we checked our bank accounts on our mobiles. We had to then run across the road to find a cashpoint and leave 50 eur deposit. We were informed breakfast was on the 1st floor each morning - no mention of a charge at all.
We tried breakfast on the first morning and it was awful. A lot of the food was gone, no plates were around so we had to ask for them. We were handed very hot plates by a staff member who gave them to us whilst she held a cloth in her hand - why she thought we'd be able to hold them with our bare hands without burning them I've no idea.
Breakfast was the worst part of this stay - there was hardly any selection of food and most of it was gone. Scrambled egg looked rotten, the meats and cheese were warm, there was no juice left. I had two mini croissants, a tiny bowl of fruit and a coffee. On checkout we were told we have been charged 18 euros per person for the breakfast and were appauled. No one informed us of the charge, nor how much it was, and frankly it's disgusting how much they were charging for it. Avoid breakfast if you decide to stay at this hotel as you can find much better breakfast for a hell of a lot cheaper...
Read moreLet me start by saying how conveniently located the hotel is - it is so close to the metro and I can pretty much go anywhere I wish with so much ease! My husband is at the Retromobile so it helps that the hotel is not that far. Our room has a nice view and everything is provided for us by the kind staff. I especially would like to give a shout out to Ulviyya and Ahmed at the breakfast lounge! Ulviyya made us feel so special (“if you need anything, please tell me, I’m here for you.” Now, that is so pleasant and I hardly hear that anymore!) and she even had stock of the soy milk which I particularly loved! Both Ulviyya and Ahmed were so kind and went to the extent of sharing their own stories, and that’s how I found out that we have a lot in common. You see, we were just in Morocco last week, so it was a delight to hear that Ahmed was from the same place we visited, Agadir. Ulviyya is from Azerbaijan and I told her I used to have members of my staff who were from Azerbaijan as well. We have one more day here and I have a good feeling it will be just as perfect as yesterday and...
