I had shakey reservations prior to our arrival, because of the response from reception staff when the booking office told me to phone them to check that we could be allocated our preferred location (awful system by the way. Not only futile, as the girls on reception found it most amusing that I thought I could be assured a particular location, but also because it took so many costly attempts to get through!). I finally decided to ask the English-speaking booking office to do this for me (even tho my French is very good). They apologised for the experience I'd had & promised they'd forward our specifications of an apartment (we did not want duplex) and 3rd floor (under no circumstances ground floor). They also promised to call back to see if there were height restrictions on the car park (although on their notes there was no parking at this location). We never received a call back...||||On arrival, we had to remove our roof box. We were charged the 70 Euros for parking. Afterwards we learnt there is free parking outside! Worse was to come. No notes on our booking and I was led to a ground floor apartment that ran along the pavement! On entering, I pretty much burst into tears. The rug in the lounge area was filthy. Stained & not even vacuumed! The sofas were dreadfully stained and worse than anything I had seen in my student days. I was horrified and didn't even look into the bedrooms. The flat was also so dark, just as I anticipated, being ground floor. And the terrace had no privacy as it overlooked the pedestrian area.||||The receptionist, Charles, was so kind. He understood completely that this was not acceptable and took me to see the one other remaining property. But it was duplex. We had really wanted the space of a bright, open plan apartment. No stairs and a full family area. Once again, on walking into the lounge area, I was taken back by the battered furniture. Not as stained as in the previous property, but nonetheless there was no way we were going to sit down on it. There were also scufffs on the walls and along the backs of the cheap metal armchairs. I felt sick...||||Charles said he could bring covers for the furniture and should be able to get new cushions for the armchairs. So we decided we would stay. Looking elsewhere didn't feel like an option at that time in the evening. We chose the duplex. By way of apology, he said he would also reimburse our parking and have our towels changed after 3 days. Cleaners would be re-sent the following day (floors were dirty in corners, the balcony was filthy, there was dust on bedside tables etc). The cleaners did return. But today we found a lump of brioche under the table leg - an area I'd pointed out to them. They clearly hadn't moved it - just swept round. Again!||||On the upside, the pool and area is lovely. The 2 towns are fascinating, the beaches diverse and evening life animated.||||Would I return? Absolutely not. On a complex this large, there is no guarantee where you might be. Some locations are overlooked. Or dark. Daily we walk past staff members smoking in doorways. (Yes, this does waft into the buildings.) Charles was super kind, but despite him promising to write an email to his manager before he went off shift (Wednesday), we've not heard a thing & it's Sunday. Towels haven't been changed. No new armchair cushions. And we feel like we're sitting in a lounge that's waiting to be decorated, because the sofa covers provided are actually sheets. Another note - saucepans have black bits of Teflon peeling off the inside. The bottom dishwasher runners are ropey and get stuck. No chopping board or other basic kitchen equipment. Five Star? Absolutely not. We've previously stayed at P&V Crotoy and Belle Dune, which provided cleaner furniture and accommodation and were far less expensive, with 4...
Read moreWe had an apartment for two in the customs house block. It was very well equipped with a bathroom with shower and wash basin, plenty of towels. A separate toilet. Bedroom come kitchen has a very nice balcony overlooking the children’s play area. The quality of the apartment was very high and in a very good condition. Kitchen came complete with kettle, toaster, pod coffee making machine, filter coffee making machine, plenty of pots pans knives, forks, right the way down to an oyster shucker. Very comfortable double bed with bedside lights plenty of plug sockets in the broom had air-conditioning which was ultra quiet, so quiet we didn’t think it was working but it was the room also has a safe Multipurpose microwave and oven large fridge with freezer compartment and a dishwasher. Kitchen also came with small amount of washing up liquid, tea towels, scourer, dishwasher tablets even capsules for the coffee maker for the first morning. Bin liners, dressing gowns, beach towels, toilet rolls, floor brushes, ironing board, iron and hairdryer. They had thought of almost everything in this apartment that you could possibly want. Car park was an extra €11 per night and it is situated in an underground car park which has a number of exits to take you to the nearest Apartment block. The complex has a breakfast area. Breakfast is a little expensive at €22 per head, so we didn’t use utilise that. There is a very nice swimming pool which is both indoors and outdoors with plenty of sunbeds and parasols sun umbrellas. We enjoyed using the swimming pool very much. It was quite warm according to my watch it was 32° in the water. The location is almost perfect. You are almost equidistant between Deauville and Trouville both have a good range of restaurants shops and every everything you need. Very close there are a number of good quality restaurants within easy walking distance or a little further into Trouville and Deauville centres. Guests are expected to empty the rubbish into the appropriate bins which are located in the car park and also they are expected to clean the kitchen area prior to leaving. Apartments are not serviced daily but are immaculately...
Read more|This is not really a hotel, it’s a complex of appartments that you can rent for whatever length of time you need. Appartments have everything, cooker, fridge, freezer, kettle etc even a pod coffee machine.||Great location near Deauville town centre, but just a short walk over the river to Trouville. It’s quite a big complex with appartments overlooking the river and Trouville on one side, and the harbour on the other, and others facing the gardens or pool.||Easy to find by car and walking distance to the railway station (5-10 Minutes). Good underground secure car park, however this is faily expensive, but then the whole place is not exactly cheap. Plenty of restaurants in walking distance, particularly over in Trouville, but also just a minute or two away on the harbour.||Booking online is easy, however you don’t really know what you’re getting till you get there. River, harbour, pool, or garden views. Ground floor or upper floor. We were lucky we had a nice upper floor appartment with balcony overlooking the river, I did see a lady complaining about her small ground floor flat near the garden, which I could understand. Staff are very pleasant and helpful, and most speak OK English.||Overall it’s just a nice place to realex, laze about, and not do very much except walk around Deauville & Trouville and eat and drink! My wife loved the pool which is both indoors and outdoors. We fully intend going again. I would say that getting a poor location and view makes me just a little bit nervous, I would try to check what I...
