Mamma Mia Deauville — Restaurant in Lisieux

Service is 0 because I had to ask 3 times for water, they brought a dirty knife, brought dessert before the main course and that one actually triggered all, when I saw the dessert coming, I laughed and literally told my wife that the service is so bad (I’m French but speak English with my wife because she’s not French), at this moment, the person at the cashier (probably the manager) told me that he also speaks English ( and? Want a reward? ) and understood what I said, so he listens to what the customers talk about at the table, lol … I told him why I said that, he was upset and thought that I spoke to my wife in English for him to not understand (to be honest I feel bad for him, it was really pity to see). I told him that he should take the feedback to improve the service. He was still not happy, whatever … not professional, not my own business, I don’t live in this city, I don’t really care. Sharing because this experience was not great and others should know that it can happen. Nice location, just above average food, easy if you have children with you as a few simple options - our waitress was brilliant and kindly spoke English with us. However - she was totally let down by a few male colleagues who were rude and dismissive, which they seemed to think was funny. They proceeded to joke about how they pretend not to speak English, I imagine thinking we couldn’t hear behind the screen, as they turned another family away with their arrogant attitude. Even our 4 year old picked up on it when he made a snide joke at our table - it left such an unpleasant taste we won’t be going back which is sad for the other hardworking staff. What a fantastic place to eat and relax! I was in Deauville nannying and this place was so friendly and accommodating. The food is amazing I ate the charcuterie board, had a lovely rosé and finished with the most delicious dessert. The staff is very professional, friendly, smiley and very accommodating since I hadn’t booked. I have been here twice now and if I come back again will take it as my favourite restaurant to be. The menu is simple and straight forward! I highly recommend whomever is I. Deauville to try this restaurant. Thank you for your awesome food, wine and hospitality.
