We only stayed one night in this beautiful place . We had booked a suite and were given the Moroccan one which is decorated like a Riad and hosts its own private terrace and a superbe bathroom with walk in shower and a large bath which nestles into an alcove. Only the distant sounds of the market in Marrakesh were missing in order for us to really believe that we were in Morocco and not the South of France||||The pool is remarkable and heated in off season but it was really not necessary while we were . ||||We took our breakfast on one of the smaller terraces overlooking the port. ||Breakfast is served as a buffet and was very copious with everything from mini croissants, pain au chocolats , fresh fruit , hams , cheeses and everything that the French breakfasts are famous for .. We enjoyed the stunning views while sipping homemade orange juice and really good coffee. ||||It was a perfect place for us and we enjoyed a really romantic stay thank you to both the staff and the manageress for being so charming and making us feel so welcome . ||||The castle stands on a hill, hence the outstanding views but it is only a 10 minute walk to the harbor , or to beach in the form of a horse shoe which appeared to be sheltered from the Mistral but which we will discover next time as time unfortunately ran out ...||||The photos that we have supplied really don't...
Read moreWe stayed here for 3 nights on our honeymoon. We booked a superior suite (Romantique) and we're truly gobsmacked by it when we arrived. Yes it's expensive but for us it was worth every penny. The suite itself is luxury. Decorated beautifully, the bed is extremely comfortable, the suite smelt amazing! I could have never gone outside......but then you step onto your own private terrace and have the most spectacular view of the town. Just stunning.|Breakfast: we loved breakfast and have no complaints. It was a typical continental breakfast. Selection of cereals, breads, pastries, meats, cheeses, fruit. We found the quality very good and the staff friendly and helpful. |Location: it's at the top of a very steep 10 minute climb above the town.....what do you expect if you want stunning views? It didn't bother us and in fact it was good to walk off all the ice cream we'd eaten. |Other comments I've read on here I disagree with. The hotel is very relaxed, staff are kind, helpful and discreet. Not very visible but that was great because it felt like we had the place to ourselves, very private. On hand if we needed them. We had a truly special stay here. Yes it's expensive but worth...
Read moregoing up to this property can make you feel like a princess in a castle - the views of Cassis and the water are astounding. The two rooms that I saw were beautiful. Sorry, folks, that's where it ends. Of the 5 rooms, only one has a shower. The bathrooms looked like that of my 1980's college dorm (and my sister in law found a bunch of ants in her bathtub). There are NO services at this hotel, and minimal (albeit very nice) staff. When my sister in law asked for a kir royale, she was told they couldn't make it (!!!). We had to search for someone to give us our room keys, as there is no one at the desk. And it is a VERY steep up-hill and down-hill into the town of Cassis, which has minimal taxi service - there were no taxis at night to take us back to the hotel, and we walked the incline in near-darkness. And since the hotel has no restaurant, it's not as if you could just have dinner there. (If you have any physical limitations, this is NOT the place for you to stay) A we have stayed at many five star hotels on this trip, we certainly have a frame of reference, and this was a very unsatisfactory experience for a great...
