I would give this restaurant a negative rating if possible. My daughters booked dinner for 4 of us at Le Poisson Rouge and at the restaurant’s request made it a 9pm booking. Based on positive reviews we were looking forward to dining there and had tried the evening before, but they were booked out. When we arrived the table wasn’t ready but we were fine to wait 10 minutes while they prepared it. About 15 minutes after we’d been seated and provided with menus we had all decided what we wanted. The owner came over - we thought to take our order - but no it was to tell us that they’d been very busy due to the Euro2024 football and had only one starter and one main dish available on the menu. Of all the dishes in their menu only one of each available. Apparently they’d run out of food, even though they’d happily taken our booking and sat us down to dine, and didn’t feel a need to mention this until after we’d been there 25 minutes. By this time it was 9.40pm and with my three daughters we had to find another place to eat. I’ve never had such a poor experience and despite the many positive reviews could never recommend a restaurant that has such a disregard for...
Read moreWent to Cassis with family. Spent multiple days examining the menu/reviews/pictures of almost every restaurant there. This was the #1 best spot in the whole town.
The food is creative, impeccable, and fresh in a town where a lot of places are tourist traps or stale repeats of the same things (try their cod with sesame miso butter, their calamari with yuzu mayonnaise). The service is incredibly friendly, accommodating, and charming (they sat our group of 7 with such friendliness, moving around tables for us). The interior design is very unique and attractive (you have to check out the giant red fish that is the only light in the bathroom). We loved everything. The meal was punctuated with exclamations of praise and excitement. My grandma adored the rum baba.
Thank you for being such a great restaurant, and for making our Cassis trip memorable. Le Poisson Rouge is more than food, it is ...
Read moreMy husband and I came across Le Poisson Rouge one night while vacationing in Cassis and thank goodness we did! We had just got into town after traveling all day and were starving but it was getting pretty late so everything around us was closing for the night. We heard some noise so we followed the soft music and came across this gem! The chef was gearing up to head home but instead allowed us to come in, sit down and made us a delightful meal while the owner's friend poured us the most delicious wine from a local vineyard, Domaine du Bagnol, and chatted with us about the town! We had the best time and what we thought was going to be a miserable night turned out to be one of the best! We 100% recommend visiting Le Poisson Rouge if you're in Cassis, we promise you will not be disappointed! And thank you again to everyone that night for all your generosity and making our...
