Bar De La Marine — Restaurant in Marseille

After a lovely stroll through the Cassis market, we stopped for lunch at Bar de la Marine—and we’re so glad we did. We grabbed a table on their sunny terrace and shared a chilled bottle of Tegana rosé, perfect for the warm afternoon.

I ordered the sea bass ceviche and it was soooo perfect—bright, fresh, and beautifully balanced with passion fruit, lime, and a sprinkle of pine nuts for texture. Every bite felt like summer in a bowl. My husband went with the smoked salmon Caesar, which came with a creamy, well-seasoned dressing, crisp croutons, and melt-in-your-mouth salmon.

The vibe was relaxed and lively, with some of the best people-watching in town. Add to that the most comfortable seats on the harbor (seriously, so much better than the usual café chairs), and it made for an ideal lunch spot. We’ll...

Felt VERY slighted as we (4) of us came for a meal at 2:50 and were told the kitchen was closing in 3 min. So order now! We choose a charcuterie board and 4 wines, the waiter said not from that side of the menu (starters). We figured it was fast enough for us to help them out NOT entrees…. So we ordered cheese plates off the dessert menus instead- received stale bread with the plates 18 €. Each So why this is so odd, two other couples ordered the charcuterie while we sat there .. the waiter was obviously playing favorites. This was supposed to be our first meal in cassis. Bill was 93€ Experience poor for a cafe / plenty other cafes to try here....

We arrived and had to sit out on the patio since they had no other tables. The waiter took his time to take our order when he realized we spoke English he asked another waiter to take our order. I mentioned we were hungry since we had been hiking and we ordered an appetizer but our appetizer and main meal all arrived at the same time. There was a group of young people at a table near us and all were smoking and both waiters were more concerned with serving them drinks then checking on us. It was overall a terrible experience. My food was salty and the fish was chewy and not tender. Overpriced for meal and drinks. I do not recommend...
