Hôtel Bristol Nord — Hotel in Paris

Im at the hotel Bristol Nord now, I havn't had a lotta experience of Paris hotels, but of hotels around the world - this wee corner of Paris must come pretty high on my list. Its so warm, theyve got the heating on full blast on a freezing day, and my room is spotlessly clean. Must be one of the cleanest ever. Last time I looked for a 'cheap hotel near the Gare du Nord' the one I found came alive around 2am with medium sized cockroaches - but this comfy room with big snowy white bedding and thick curtains to keep the heat in - couldnt be more unlike that one. Here the room has its own shower, wash basin and toilet, gleaming clean - and theres free wifi. I went downstairs (from first floor) at around 7 am, hoping to get some information about local cafés open early, as it didnt occur to me that breakfast might be thrown in for my 50 euros. Discovered I could have my free breakfast immediately - not knowing what was on offer - I said Id have the same as the other guy, already about to tuck in, in the breakfast room. It was a really big mug of all milk, hot chocolate - with half a fresh, crispy baguette, butter and jam. The fellow who served it looked a bit anxious and didnt smile - but I allow for cultural diffs. Im not French and I dont speak French very well, and that worries some people when they are expected to provide for needs. I did try for another mug of hot chocolate, but no luck with that. Still I do hope I can stay another night...I can see a bit of the Gare du Nord from my window - so the Metro must be close...and Ive got 3 trips planned. Fully recommend this hotel. Will come...

I stayed here two separate nights, and the rooms were clean, the location was convenient, and the staff were helpful. The first night of our stay was excellent. However, on the second evening I stayed here, the young male desk clerk insisted on engaging me in a political conversation that made me very uncomfortable in front of my children. Since I was from the United States, he was very insistent on Trump and Elon Musk being great, that Jews controlled our political order, that France was being destroyed by letting "animals" migrate into their country, and that Hungary was the only place in the EU where white people could live free. I tried to keep the conversation in French and to wrap it up as quickly as possible since I was with my children and we needed to rest, but the young man insisted on speaking English and saying offensive things that I needed to talk to my children about afterward. Without that experience, my stay would have been perfect...

J'y était allé avec ma famille, à première vue l'hôtel semblait être correct mais c'est une arnaque ! Je vous explique pourquoi : d'abord on prend une chambre pour 4 personne, bon jusque là tout va bien il nous donne la clé de la septième chambre (situé au deuxième étage) et là j'insère la clé pour ouvrir la porte mais surprise ? que vois-je la porte ne s'ouvre pas, je vais à l'accueil le réceptionniste était un homme plutôt désagréable, il donnait l'impression qu'on le dérangeait, bref revenons-en à nous moutons. Je lui fait part que la porte ne s'ouvre pas et sans aucune explication il nous donne la clé de la 11ème chambre (situé au troisième étage !) et aucune aide pour monter les bagages car il n'y a pas d'ascenseur et on avait plusieurs valises à montés dans des escalier pas du tout agréable et solide. Bon encore pour ça c'est pas trop grave ensuite on rentre dans la chambre et là on remarque qu'il manque des oreillers donc comme la logique le veut je descend et je fais part au réceptionniste de notre problème et il nous dit cash "Je n'en ai pas" j'avais l'impression d'entendre "laissez moi tranquille je m'en fou". Donc je me dit bon tant pis on va faire avec, je remonte avec déjà une très mauvais impression de cet hôtel, quand j'arrive dans notre chambre ma famille et moi constatons que que le lit est assez sale il y'a des cheveux, des petites bêtes, des sortes de poussière, et les lampes au dessus du lit ne fonctionne pas du tout. Ensuite je vais dans la salle de bain et le sol est très glissant j'avais l'impression qu'il y avait de la crème ou une sorte d'huile sur le sol, et je remarque que la papier toilette est très mal mis avec un bout arraché. Ça commence à faire beaucoup de problème là non ? Bref pour en finir, pour donner une raison à la seule étoile qu'il y'a je dirais que l'hôtel est bien situé proche de la gard de l'est mais si c'était possible j'aurais mis 0 étoile ! J'ai passé la pire nuit dans cette hôtel je n'arrivais pas à dormir à cause du bruit et il manquais les oreillers c'etait pas du tout confortable, je n'ai pas réussi à dormir de la nuit ! C'est le pire hôtel dont j'ai eu affaire jusqu'à aujourd'hui je vous déconseille grandement d'y passer ne serait-ce qu'une nuit, moi malheuresement j'ai du y passé la nuit car j'avais déjà payé mais finalement si ça sert à faire éviter ce désastre à d'autre personne j'accepte d'avoir passé cette...
