This is a very sincere and serious review : I am a very passionate person for food, as i do a lot of cooking myself, and I also love to enjoy it outside in the restaurants. I have heard a lot about this restaurant and it's food. And hence, I decided to visit here for a dinner with bunch of my colleagues. We ordered many stuffs, which includes Dosa, vada, idli etc. In one line, i can simply say that I was literally shocked by the unauthentic food taste and it's low quality. As they say, if you want to rate an Italian pizzeria then try their Margarita Pizza and by the taste of it you can tell if the pizzeria is good or not. I believe that the same applies to a South Indian restaurant by tasting their Sambhar and coconut chutney. It was extremely sad to eat a sambhar which was almost like water (like a rassam) and the taste of it was nothing close to an authentic good sambhar. It lacked spices and there was no balance of ingredients. Only this was not enough, the chutney tasted very watery too, the consistency of it was not good at all, the water and coconut paste was separating out (if you see this, you know it is bad). More to that, sambhar was served Luke warm, i mean almost cold. Note that it was a day full of rain and still they didn't care to serve it hot. Besides this my colleagues ordered idli's, vada and i have heard from them that it was equally bad. At last i found some peace in their Rava Dosa, but that too was short lived as you realize while eating that how much oil soaked it is.
Usually i don't write such harsh reviews but this was a very disappointing experience. Even if you are a french or European, who is planning to visit this restaurant, then think twice as you will be not getting a authentic tasting south indian food. I will wait for the owner's explaination if this was a rare mishap due to change of chef or something else. I am not sure if this restaurent is living up...
Read moreAs an Indian and that too from Tamilnadu, This taste is utterly disappointing. Service is terribly bad. I was asking for chutney and one of the restaurant guy pointed out some other guy in the restaurant... I don't know! You guys are from the same restaurant.. atleast he could have informed the other guy who is standing next to him that I am asking for something. Moreover the restaurant owner asked me to leave the table as soon as I am done with the payment. I was about to leave... But he need not tell that. It's not a fast food / road side food shop. It's a restaurant.... People linger few seconds or mins after they finished with their food. But its a real embarrassment and it's a mistake going to this restaurant.
To the owner : we are benchmark for the world in our hospitality. Pls dont spoil that. Kindly treat people well and don't ask them to leave. They know it. They are not going to stay for a the entire...
Read moreRegret going here. I don't think this is a real Sangeetha chain - it's subpar service and really substandard food taints the usual Sangeetha chain standard. We should have walked a few extra steps to the Saravana Bhavan nearby. The chaat is laughable. The rava dosa was probably made with old batter or something. My husband and I both fell sick after having food here. Not sure if it's the bad sambar or coffee or dosa. Was sick the whole evening after. Please do not go to this fake Sangeetha. It took 20+ min to get our check after we were done. Ruined my appetite and consequently my evening. Not sure if France has a food health department that does regular checks on restaurant food health and quality. Falling sick on food poisoning is something that happens when traveling - did not know this was one of those...
