We’ve travelled extensively through Europe for 20 years and we’ve just completed another month long stay in France and thank god we were only stuck here for one night. This hotel is the dirtiest, dingiest, creepiest and downright spookiest place we’ve ever stayed in. It’s dark, noisy, the air con doesn’t work and it smells. What the heck is in their vents…it can only be described as rotting flesh…no doubt dead rodents. The rooms are filthy and shower drains back up over your feet. They will say ‘but it’s Christian Lacroix designed’. But the nasty shag carpet in the rooms will quickly stun you into reality. It will be an eternal mystery how this place rates at all. It needs to be condemned and rebuilt. The smells, hair, grease and what only can be described as maybe dried skin flakes in the rooms are shocking. The staff don’t respect ‘do not disturb’ signage and just enter your room. Communication is almost impossible…the staff are playing horror movie roles it seems. This place is right out of an Addams Family movie. Do not stay here! There are numerous incredibly nicer, cleaner, similarly priced hotels in the area. Unless you’re looking for a real Halloween reality stay complete with filth…look elsewhere.
In response to Management’s comments: I can assure you that our experience was as described and the only things that are highly exaggerated are your room rates and your review scores. Please test your shower drains, look through your disgusting shag carpets and...
Read moreHotel Bellechasse is strikingly beautiful and comfortable, the staff are lovely and helpful, and the location simply cannot be beat for access to Musee d'Orsay and the Left Bank.
The beds are new and supportive, while feeling soft at the same time.
Rooms are larger than Paris average, and with the addition of cleverly designed beds that allow your large luggage to slide under the foot of the bed, you have even more functional space.
The Bath/Shower situation will either be a dream come true, or be rather neutral. Like most Paris hotel showers, the handheld shower head can be placed into an overhead shower position that accommodates taller people well. Most showers are in an oversized clawfoot-style tub which allows for more freedom of movement (you won't elbow the wall while scrubbing yourself here). The shower curtains do function very well. We had no issues of water getting outside of the tub. For anyone who specifically does not do well in a shower/tub combination, you may not like this arrangement. For soaks, the tub is deep and can even reasonably fit a 6'+ person. They even supply some soaking salts (normal salt, not Epsom, which would have been absolutely splendid....)
Book this hotel well ahead if you can, as the prices dramatically increase closer to arrival date, especially during...
Read moreMy family had booked a VRBO which ended up being an awful place to stay, but in wandering the nearby neighborhood we came across this adorable boutique hotel. They were able to accommodate us last minute and the experience was absolutely wonderful. The rooms are compact, efficient but well appointed and brilliantly designed with a fun sense of style. All the beds are extremely comfortable, great showers, a quiet place in a phenomenal location. We stayed in a family sized room, huge king bed with pull out sofa bed easily accommodated parents and two kids, and you can combine two adjacent rooms on the entry level to sleep 9 or 10 people adjoined together. There's a nice lobby lounge and bar with a lower patio and an upper deck patio, they have a nice evening happy hour with half priced drinks. We only had breakfast on the morning we departed but it was really nice and fresh and a great way to start the day. The real highlight, though, was the staff. They were so warm and accommodating and helpful, bent over backwards to help us in every way. Raluca was a delightful, kind, and encouraging presence every time we came and went, thoughtful to us and our children. I would highly recommend this hotel and plan to stay again on a...
