PARISIAN CHARM ! My wife and I flew into Paris from Bologna on Mon, Oct 2nd to commence our one week vacation in Paris....our first ever visit. The next day we decided to walk to the River Seine from our apartment in Rue Daguerre to appreciate the Parisian culture. It took us a couple of hours to get to the Seine...we stopped many times along the route to look inside shops. At around 1.30pm we decided it was time for lunch and the look of this French restaurant fitted the bill. WOW ! It looked terribly busy when we walked inside....our preference generally because there is usually very little atmosphere or vibe on outdoor patios. We looked around for a minute or so but couldn't find a vacant table. TO THE RESCUE ! Guy the owner himself steered us to a just vacated table looking out to the Musee d'Orsay....the magnificent museum building we had just seen minutes earlier. A buzzing head server named Jean-Michel came by to take our lunch order....2 x double shot Lattes, 1 x Quiche Lorraine, Salade ( bacon & cheese ) and 1 x Carpaccio De Boeuf, Frites, Salade ( sliced beef, French fries, salad ). We also asked for glasses of water. Meanwhile I ducked downstairs to use the restroom which was clean and well presented. Our 2 Lattes in tall glasses arrived very quickly followed up by a carafe of water and filled stem glasses. The restaurant had a busy vibrant atmosphere inside....we loved it ! GOOD SERVICE ! Jean-Michel the head server....maybe the only server inside was working himself to death. Our rich creamy lattes tasted quite good and the view of the Musee d'Orsay was outstanding. Our lunch orders arrived with a serve of Complimentary Artisan Bread....a nice touch. My wife enjoyed her Quiche Lorraine & small salad and I was quite happy with my tender Sliced Beef & crispy French Fries. Keep in mind that this cafe is in one of the most popular tourist areas in all of Paris with the world famous Musee d'Orsay fronting the beautiful Seine virtually next door. I had a nice chat with Guy the owner....got a selfie and wished him...

We ate here before reading all the hilariously ridiculous reviews. Our experience was nothing as described. We are not locals, we don't speak French, we were treated with respect and our waiter was extremely friendly. We ordered the big steak with pepper sauce and mash (not a fan of chips). Our steaks were medium rare as requested and consistent with others at the 4 tables next to us. The steak was so well cooked it sliced like butter.

I cannot for the life of me understand the negative reviews, it's as though they have been made up or clearly people are delusional. We enjoyed the food, staff and atmosphere so much we had lunch here 5 times and each time all the waiters were extremely friendly, as was the owner. Our meals were consistent each time and we were greeted by our usual waiter each time with a hand shake and excellent service. Yousef was probably the best waiter we have come across each time we travel to Paris.

I also want to point out that what others have described in regards to rude staff who are angry and throwing them out of the cafè or throwing ashtrays are utterly fabricated. The only logical explanation for their negative reviews could be that they were themselves rude to the staff. Some mentioned that they seat tourists separate from French dinners, well we must be French, because we were seated among French locals.

I'd recommend this cafè, ignore the other reviews and at least...

So we stumbled upon this quaint restaurant as we were distraught from being deceived by a pedal driver. Our cell phones were almost dead & we needed a place to charge immediately. A waiter named Dan showed us to an outlet without question. When we realized our adapter was 3-prong instead of 2-prong, we felt defeated. Dan saw our issue & brought a 2-prong adapter! How awesome! We decided to get a snack while we waited for our phone to charge. We had the tomato mozzarella salad, fries, and coconut & berry currant sorbets. Well, everything was delicious! We ended up having a great time being silly with Dan (he even taught us some curse words in other languages😂), meeting his mom, and taking pics with the some staff. Dan even insisted we KEEP the adapter AND gave us a second one so we didn't have to share. Good food, great service, and a good time. We'll definitely be back when we visit Paris again. And thanks...

I lived in Paris and not once I encountered service as awful as this place. The food was subpar and the waiter treated non French customers like we were wasting his time. I didn’t check the review before randomly stopping at the resto for lunch. I know now how important it is to take the reviews into consideration. French onion soup was blend and the foie gras was quite disappointing. So many good restaurants in paris do not waste your time at this place. You might be paying for the location but the abuse was unjust.
