Don't let the exterior and location of this hotel put you off - inside it is beautiful. Lovely staff on reception, advised that there was an honesty bar with tea and coffee as well as other beverages in the lounge area. My room was stunning, loved the decor - the only issue was the bed that was broken in the middle (Room 25). It was bearable and as I was only there two nights there was no time to complain etc. The bathroom was incredible, two amazing shower heads and Rituals toileteries. Towels were needing replacing as older but other than that very nice. There is a fridge and complimentary water. Charging points (USB) available and also a hairdryer in the bathroom. Plenty of clothes hanging space too. The hotel is well positioned near to a supermarket, wine store, bakery and lots of restaurants and eateries. The only unfortunate thing was the bar across the road that was very noisy and open very late into the night/early morning. It is also near a couple of metro stations which is very convenient.
As well as the broken bed I could not get the air conditioning to work so had to open the windows which open directly onto residential/business areas. Downstairs I went to use the tea / coffee facilities in the common area when there was some sort of function ongoing too. People were rude, standing in the way and then someone asked if they could help me as though I was somewhere I shouldn't be , thus making me feel that I was wrong for being there. Same the following day when some sort of business meeting was ongoing. So to say that this lounge/common area is available for guests is misleading, either you hire it out or you don't but don't make hotel guests feel they are in the wrong for using somewhere that the hotel advertises as being available for use!

Read moreThe Lenox is ideally situated on Rue Delambre. It has been tastefully renovated art deco style recently and everything feels new. Great showers and "rituals" brand toiletries. The "Vavin" Metro is two minutes walk away with direct links to Notre dame, St. Germain, Gare do Nord and Garde Est. It's a just off the Rue Montpernasse and a plethora of great restaurants. We also felt safe in the area. The street itself has butchers, two wonderful bakers, delicatessen a wonderful cheese shop, wine shops and two supermarkets, everything you could possible want, as we stayed for 4 nights we used the deli for a stop in night. The Rosebud bar next door is a fantastic bohemiam artist venue, quite bourgois but wonderful. We ate at "The Dome" on the corner, fanstastic seafood and oysters and at the Venise restauraunt opposite the hotel. Taking a left just outside the hotel walk to the end of the street and there are even more bars and restaurants. On sunday an artists market. Breakfast is a buffet and there is an honesty bar. comp tea and coffee in the room and. A machine down stairs. We will stop again. ||Disliked · Towels and toilet paper quality are not great but three star or less. By taking a room at the front you get quite a bit of noise from the bars and deliveries early in the morning if you sleep with the window open, but there is aircon in the room. . Next time we will opt of a courtyard view. Club and Double rooms are quite tight but I would say adequate. On the sixth floor ther are five spacius suites which we will...
Read moreWe actually stayed at the Hotel Lenox Montparnasse twice in the same trip, at the beginning and end of our trip in two different levels of rooms. This hotel is in a great location, and echoing other travelers' reviews I'll give a shout out to the staff, especially Magdalena. The breakfast is wonderful and they have an honesty bar where you can have a glass of wine or a beer from their nice selection.||We had the most basic room for the first stay, and it was comfortable and small. We upgraded to a junior suite for the second part of the trip and it was large, comfortable, and the kind of place where you want to place yourself by the window and watch life on the street go by below. Fluffy bathrobes included. It also has that strange French thing where the toilet is separate from the rest of the bathroom, which means you have to go to another room to wash your hands. I'd understand this better if there were a sink with the toilet. It seems to be something having to do with 'clean" vs "dirty" spaces, but I honestly think it has to do with whether you have the room to have a separate WC space. Both areas are nicely designed. ||There's lots of excellent dining nearby, including a street of places that specialize in Breton gallettes and crepes. The hotel staff has...
