One cannot mention Maison Malesherbes without acknowledging the exceptional staff that makes this establishment shine. From the moment of our arrival until our departure, the staff members were a constant source of warmth and assistance. Their attentiveness and genuine care for our well-being elevated our experience. We felt valued, attended to, and truly welcomed, which added an extra layer of joy to our stay in Paris.
One highlight of our visit was the flexibility offered by Maison Malesherbes regarding luggage storage. Before checking in, we were able to securely leave our suitcases at the hotel, enabling us to explore the beautiful city of Paris without any burdens. Similarly, after checking out, we had the freedom to enjoy the city, knowing that our belongings were in safe hands back at the hotel. This level of convenience and thoughtfulness truly made our stay wonderful.

Read moreThere are many boutique hotels to choose from in Paris and many of them have similarly great locations as Maison Malesherbes (Saint Augustine station and Saint Lazare station). However, we wanted to take this review platform as a special thanks to the staff at Maison Malesherbes (specifically Mr Djamel Tebbi and Ms Zaira) as I always believe that service is what sets hotels apart.
We would like to give special thanks to the Hotel Manager Mr Djamel Tebbi for his exceptional assistance extended to us on two occasions: (i) we unfortunately fell ill during the trip and we were trying to locate a doctor (as one would know it's extremely difficult to secure an appointment on the same / even the next day in Paris without already having a family GP). Mr Djamel not only shared with us the proximity of the COSEM, he actually walked with us there and even followed-up with us after that just to make sure we had everything we needed. (ii) on our departure, the hotel arranged a taxi for us to CDG; what was meant to be a fixed-fare trip turned sideways as the taxi driver insisted on charging us a whole 18 euros extra as we turned into CDG (which we paid under the stressful circumstances of having to catch our flight). when we provided this feedback to the hotel, Mr Djamel, with his prompt and professional response, refunded us the 18 euros without raising a single doubt, and assured us that he would take the matter up separately with the taxi company. It was these two displays of professionalism that will make me recommend Maison Malesherbes to my friends visiting Paris - if you're staying at Maison Malesherbes, you can be rest assured that you will be well taken care of while on vacation in a foreign city.
In addition, we like that the hotel sent us a pre-arrival email to share with us the amenities available as well as the customised local guide. Very thoughtful!
Other than that, the room is true to the pictures on the website and we had no issues with the hot shower/...
Read moreFor a 4-star hotel, I was expecting more. Mind you, this hotel is not a bad hotel, it just does not match the expectations I had for that rating.
Good: The staff is very friendly and makes an effort to welcome you, almost every time! The bed is comfortable. The rooms are somewhat large for a hotel in Paris. It's well decorated and feels premium. Our bathroom was large.
Not good: There is no indoor restaurant. The room service is made through a third-party service, which might close independently from the hotel, so you cannot have delivery at your room every day (we had this happen towards the end of the year). Our room had a shower that drained slower than a snail climbing Mount Everest, which meant we finished each shower in our own foot juice. And I mean 1-2 inches of water (3-6 cm). Our A/C didn't work (only blew hot air), and the room was somewhat warm, which made the night not 100% enjoyable. The shower head holder was not holding properly anymore, which meant it could fall at any time if handled improperly. The soap holder had little bumps which would make the soap bottles constantly fall.
The issues above are not horrendous in themselves, but are definitely not at the level of a 4-star hotel. And it's the sum of it all that makes it less than satisfying.
EDIT: Reply to the response below.
The end-of-year absence of service was not just one day, it was for multiple days: Dec 30th - Jan 2nd. Again, not unexpected, but lacking at this price ($300 / night).
I am certain the staff would have helped if we reported the problems (see my previous positive review about the staff!), but my point is that they shouldn't have been issues in the first place for that level of...
