Lovely and special boutique hotel on the Right Bank in a very good location. Nice change from our usual Left Bank stays although had a romantic and intimate Left Bank feel. Must highly recommend Djamel for his pleasant demeanor from the very first welcome as well as his staff for the personable, welcoming, and helpful attitudes from everyone, including particularly Elan (I hope I'm spelling her name correctly), who went out of her way to assist and be kind. The general attitude really made our stay more pleasurable and comfortable. Upon our departure, we complimented Djamel on this and he made it clear that his perspective is that the Maison should feel like home, which it does. The "top down" professionalism and friendliness was well in place over our stay. Lovely, special property, with very clean rooms, a good bed, nice quality linens, a lovely lounge and cozy breakfast room. We had the "express breakfast" one morning with cappuccino and croissants attended by a friendly and kind woman (sorry I don't have her name), which we found to be a really nice option that more hotels should employ since one doesn't always eat or want a full breakfast and it seems a waste to have to pay for items you don't eat or want. We wished we could have stayed longer and hope to return. [To note, AC wasn't terribly strong, but acceptable, and for those who mind, toilet is in separate room from bath and sink, at least in our room 31. We did love our view from our Juliette balcony and we had a wonderful tub (no shower).]

During my recent trip to Paris, I had the pleasure of staying at this exceptional boutique hotel situated in a prime Parisian location. The hotel staff were incredibly hospitable, and the room was decent by Parisian standards and spotlessly maintained. Despite the typically noisy street outside, my room was so soundproof that I couldn't hear any of it. The front desk receptionist was highly professional, friendly, and very pleasant to chat with. The hotel's strategic location was perfect for strolling around trying out different types of cuisines but also if you wish to see l’Arc De Triomphe or the Eiffel Tower. In terms of public transportation, there is metro station just a seven-minute walk away. Overall, I strongly recommend this hotel to fellow travelers seeking accommodations in Paris. The hotel's exceptional location, attentive staff, and excellent amenities make it an outstanding choice for any discerning traveler who wants to experience Paris. Update: 17 November 2023 I had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Malesherbes for a second time and I can't say enough good things about this place and the remarkable staff, especially Fouad. This hotel has become my top choice in Paris due to its impeccable service. Everyone’s attention to detail, promptness, and genuine care for guests' comfort made my stay truly unforgettable. I highly recommend this hotel, and I guarantee you'll be in good hands.
P.P.
No matter what your expectations are, „Maison” would need to work really hard to disappoint you. Rich and beautiful interiors, central location, views overlooking Saint-Augustin church. The breakfasts are generous and delicious. The service is polite and welcoming. The small „but” comes from the form over function. Bathtub is great but unpractical to use; lack of place to fit the shower head forces you to take the shower sitting down, which is not everyone’s cupcake. The view is gorgeous, but unless you’re a tough sleeper, you are going to suffer through the noise of cars outside (which never really goes away, because Paris rarely sleeps, and almost never sleeps when you do). But do give „Maison Malesherbes” a go, if it fits your style, your budget and if you like your breakfasts to be anything but „petit”.

A Parisian Gem: Maison Malesherbes – Where Character and Hospitality Shine

Nestled in the enchanting French capital, this charming Parisian hotel offers a delightful blend of excellent service, genuine friendliness, and a tastefully decorated ambiance that takes you on a journey through time.

The rooms at Maison Malesherbes are a testament to the hotel's commitment to creating a unique and inviting atmosphere. Adorned with captivating wallpapers and adorned with tasteful paintings, each room exudes its own character, transporting guests to a world where elegance and comfort coexist harmoniously. The attention to detail is apparent in every corner, ensuring that the stay is not just pleasant but also undeniably present and memorable.

Cleanliness and thoughtful furnishings are crucial aspects of any hotel experience, and Maison Malesherbes does not disappoint in this regard. The rooms are immaculate, reflecting the hotel's dedication to providing guests with an environment that is both pristine and welcoming. The well-appointed furnishings complement the overall ambiance, adding a touch of sophistication and ensuring that every guest feels truly at home.

One cannot mention Maison Malesherbes without acknowledging the exceptional staff that makes this establishment shine. From the moment of our arrival until our departure, the staff members were a constant source of warmth and assistance. Their attentiveness and genuine care for our well-being elevated our experience. We felt valued, attended to, and truly welcomed, which added an extra layer of joy to our stay in Paris.

One highlight of our visit was the flexibility offered by Maison Malesherbes regarding luggage storage. Before checking in, we were able to securely leave our suitcases at the hotel, enabling us to explore the beautiful city of Paris without any burdens. Similarly, after checking out, we had the freedom to enjoy the city, knowing that our belongings were in safe hands back at the hotel. This level of convenience and thoughtfulness truly made our stay wonderful.

Conveniently located close to Paris St Lazare, the hotel offers easy access to various transportation options, including the Eurostar at Gare du Nord. The proximity to these transportation hubs ensures that exploring the city is a breeze, allowing us to immerse ourselves in the magic of Paris effortlessly. Moreover, the abundance of charming restaurants, cozy coffee shops, and delightful bakeries within a short walking distance adds to the allure of Maison Malesherbes.

Maison Malesherbes is a short walk away from the renowned Galeries Lafayette. Here, we wandered through an array of exquisite boutiques, and savoured the Parisian culinary delights.

The hotel's strategic location proves to be a haven for those seeking a well-rounded Parisian experience.

Maison Malesherbes stands as a testament to the rich tapestry of Parisian hospitality. From the moment one steps foot into this charming abode, a sense of tranquility and warmth envelops the spirit. The meticulously decorated rooms, the genuine friendliness of the staff, and the convenient location all contribute to an...

There are many boutique hotels to choose from in Paris and many of them have similarly great locations as Maison Malesherbes (Saint Augustine station and Saint Lazare station). However, we wanted to take this review platform as a special thanks to the staff at Maison Malesherbes (specifically Mr Djamel Tebbi and Ms Zaira) as I always believe that service is what sets hotels apart.

We would like to give special thanks to the Hotel Manager Mr Djamel Tebbi for his exceptional assistance extended to us on two occasions: (i) we unfortunately fell ill during the trip and we were trying to locate a doctor (as one would know it's extremely difficult to secure an appointment on the same / even the next day in Paris without already having a family GP). Mr Djamel not only shared with us the proximity of the COSEM, he actually walked with us there and even followed-up with us after that just to make sure we had everything we needed. (ii) on our departure, the hotel arranged a taxi for us to CDG; what was meant to be a fixed-fare trip turned sideways as the taxi driver insisted on charging us a whole 18 euros extra as we turned into CDG (which we paid under the stressful circumstances of having to catch our flight). when we provided this feedback to the hotel, Mr Djamel, with his prompt and professional response, refunded us the 18 euros without raising a single doubt, and assured us that he would take the matter up separately with the taxi company. It was these two displays of professionalism that will make me recommend Maison Malesherbes to my friends visiting Paris - if you're staying at Maison Malesherbes, you can be rest assured that you will be well taken care of while on vacation in a foreign city.

In addition, we like that the hotel sent us a pre-arrival email to share with us the amenities available as well as the customised local guide. Very thoughtful!

Other than that, the room is true to the pictures on the website and we had no issues with the hot shower/...

For a 4-star hotel, I was expecting more. Mind you, this hotel is not a bad hotel, it just does not match the expectations I had for that rating.

Good: The staff is very friendly and makes an effort to welcome you, almost every time! The bed is comfortable. The rooms are somewhat large for a hotel in Paris. It's well decorated and feels premium. Our bathroom was large.

Not good: There is no indoor restaurant. The room service is made through a third-party service, which might close independently from the hotel, so you cannot have delivery at your room every day (we had this happen towards the end of the year). Our room had a shower that drained slower than a snail climbing Mount Everest, which meant we finished each shower in our own foot juice. And I mean 1-2 inches of water (3-6 cm). Our A/C didn't work (only blew hot air), and the room was somewhat warm, which made the night not 100% enjoyable. The shower head holder was not holding properly anymore, which meant it could fall at any time if handled improperly. The soap holder had little bumps which would make the soap bottles constantly fall.

The issues above are not horrendous in themselves, but are definitely not at the level of a 4-star hotel. And it's the sum of it all that makes it less than satisfying.

EDIT: Reply to the response below.

The end-of-year absence of service was not just one day, it was for multiple days: Dec 30th - Jan 2nd. Again, not unexpected, but lacking at this price ($300 / night).

I am certain the staff would have helped if we reported the problems (see my previous positive review about the staff!), but my point is that they shouldn't have been issues in the first place for that level of...
