Sixty percent of the flat white I buy is not coffee. It is milk. I think the coffee here is good, but it was not good enough to overcome the unwelcome flavours contributed by their selected milk. This was the first location where we noticed a cafe using UHT. I had expected cafes to use pasteurised fresh cows milk that is kept in a fridge. This is UHT that is designed to be long lived ant room temperature. That has to give it different qualities. I live in Melbourne. Before I visited France I never thought that anyone would make a flat white using UHT. That seems to be universally the case in Paris. Each cafe where I tried a flat white, each of those flat whites had a similar element that I had not expected to taste and that I found unpleasant. This new taste element I can only attribute to the UHT. In some locations the quality of the coffee was sufficient to balance. Here I didn’t feel that it was.
It is a lovely little spot run by a single person. She was very nice. The location and fit out very lovely also.

Noir roasts, grinds and brews their own coffee. For those that love oat milk they use Oatlys original and they just happen to have an amazing attitude towards their customers. Kevin who was working most of the days was had an awesome attitude and loves to discuss coffee and give cool recommendations.
Say you're drinking your cappuccino or caffe latte at some bar, restaurant or even a 5 star hotel and feel that something is not just right? Well come here, you'll thank yourself. And Noir - cause they really do amazing coffee.
If that's not enough for you, see @noir_coffeeshop on IG and you'll understand...
Read moreOne of the first places I’ve seen here that offers a real filter coffee at a reasonable price! They also have matcha, and most of the other coffee options the French seem to consider “specialty”. The barista was lovely, and quick, and she seems to know her regular customers and their orders by heart, giving the place a feeling of community and friendship. I don’t think you can go wrong here! They have some quick bites for on the go as well, which you can enjoy indoor (with cool seating and fun music) or outdoor watching the busy...
