Square Louis-XVI — Attraction in Paris

My husband and I tried to have a picnic in this park this evening. Our picnic was interrupted by several packs of wild rats. I ran away in fright with my arepas in hand (also in an effort to save my unborn child) but it was too late for my husband. He was immobilized and couldn’t move as his hands were full of arepa sauce, which made him all the more enticing for the gang of rodents. Despite being a third degree black belt and an undercover police officer trained in special interventions, he was unable to fight them off. There are a lot of restaurants around the park to grab a meal a meal to go and enjoy in the park.

Unfortunately I thought 6€ to go inside the Chapelle was too much so I didn’t visit it.

Au détour de la rue des Mathurins,se trouve un joli petit square joliment fleuri et arboré,qui est aussi un lieu historique,insolite et tranquille. Au milieu est construit,la chapelle expiatoire... C'est Louis XVIII qui décida de faire construire cette chapelle,en mémoire du roi Louis XVI et de la Reine Marie-Antoinette, entre 1816 et 1826, par l’architecte Pierre Fontaine. Chef d'œuvre méconnu,symbole de la Restauration,à la différence des grands monuments civiques élevés au 19e siècle,cet édifice funéraire est avant tout un monument à caractère religieux.Ce temple de taille modeste est un exemple totalement abouti,du néo-classicisme tardif. La chapelle abrite notamment deux sculptures " Louis XVI, auquel un ange montre le ciel ", du sculpteur François-Joseph Bosio  et " Marie-Antoinette soutenue par la Religion " de Jean-Pierre Cortot.
