The hotel needs closing down period!!||Agoda the middleman is not even accepting the problems while I suffer with bedbug bites for now 2wks since returning back to England. The Hotel surrounding area is very very dirty and run down dangerous zone no go area, lots of drug users and homeless drunk hanging around from the late afternoon, a taxi can not drive right to the door due to road bollards, so one still has to walk it to the hotel arriving late at night or the early dark days of the winter months.||||These are the highlights I have raised to Agoda/Hotel Mondial below.|||| THE OYLIMPICS IS A SHORT TIME AWAY, ANYONE THINKING OF BOOKING HOTEL MONDIAL SHOULD AVOID AT ALL COST AND SAVE YOURSELF THE PAIN AS THE HOTEL WILL IGNORE THE PROBLEMS YOU FACE AND FOB YOU OFF WITH NO REFUND EVEN PARTIAL!!!!!!!!!!!!||||||||I wish to further express my very poor experiences at the Hotel Mondail Paris. I strongly believe the hotel was not fit for letting rooms and the conditions with all the building works going on in the hotel that added to my bad experience of no air condition working both in the room and the bathroom. I am still suffering from the bites and have been given further tablets (Prednisolone 5mg) which were prescribe on the 1st and now the 5th July following the awful bed bug bites.||||I see from your last email, the negotiate with supplier/hotel on several occasions have failed, believe to be the in denial of the hotel taking responsibility of its not just poor hygiene but dangerous heath and safety of its guests by putting them at health and safety risks.||||Have risks assessments monitoring and control being carried out in at Hotel Modial, as clearing my proof of photos will deny this?? This exposes a hospitality electrical safety and compliance risks!! A health and safety environ officer should have closed this hotel under the conditions I have witnessed. Agoda as third party platform should not be advertising such hotel businesses that are not fit for guests. It was an implied term of our contract that the accommodation provided would be of a standard of cleanliness and quality reasonably to be expected from this type and price of hotel.||||Please see the high light key points below to the problems Face with the hotel during y stay.||||||Agoda It also an implied term that the service provided would be done so with the reasonable care and skills required by the supply of goods and services Act 1982/Consumers Rights Act 2015.)||||Therefore you are in breach of the contract.||As such I am legally entitled to receive compensation from you. In consequence I am claiming the sum of £**|||||| 1. Strong smell of vomit combined with damp and no fresh air or breathable air. The hotel gave an air humidifier but this was so slow working in terms of it speed to clean the air of anything or the even the smell which remained throughout my stay. || Each time I entered the room I would smell all of the vomit smells again!! making me literately feel sick)|| || 2. The windows would not open due to broken curtains, once the hotel fixed the curtains, yet still the windows would not open with the curtains closed. It was extremely hot weather and wanted to keep the room shaded (dark) to keep the room cool especially as their air con was not working and the small mini fan desk didn’t keep the room cool hardly. During the night it was so difficult to sleep as it was way too hot, couldn’t open the windows too much as I didn’t wanted any flies coming in etc. so was stuck with this unbearable condition!|| || 3. Extremely stained soaked carpets in the room and throughout the 1st floor leading to all the guests rooms on all levels. The carpets were so old and dirty with hundreds of stains filled in the carpets.|| || 4. Air condition in room and bathroom was not working,(Hotel reception had informed me that the air con had been switched off manually due to contractors repairs and building works going on in the other part to the hotel wing. The bathroom would steam up so much, that it became difficult to even see where I was going when stepping out of the shower (Built in the Bath tub)! This was highly dangerous and could have easily caused a trips/fall or serious injury as I have arthritis in both my hands and knees.|| || 5. The toilet flash button was broken that the whole large tab flash button box had to apply a lot of pressure to flash the toilet chain, very unhygienic! With my arthritis in my hands it was very difficult to do this at times. I had reported this to the receptionist and they said they will fix this after having checked the problem themselves but no one came to fix the problem and this remained unfixed throughout my stay.|| || 6. The electric kettle was broken to the point were the top part of the kettle was coming apart exposing the inside if the wires. I only spotted this when I had put the kettle to boil and the kettle was not switching off on auto and the steam was covering the whole dressing table mirror and the room too was then getting filled, with steam, I quickly went over to stop the kettle from the main switch as at this point the kettle was way to hot to switch off the button from the actual kettle itself. Once the kettle was cooled, I tried to check why this had napped and could see to my horror the kettle was exposing its internal wires and the whole plastic from handle to lid was not fused together and falling apart!. The next morning I informed the receptionist of the kettle, the gave me a ceramic teapot and advised me to fill up the hot water from the breakfast room to take to my room as they did not have another spare electric kettle. It was as if the hotel was not equip/updated to even a reasonable health and safety standard level of the 21st century ( 2024) as I was faces all these problems with the hotel.|| || 7. I had asked for an iron and ironing broad but the hotel advised me to iron on the bed as they don’t do iron broads. This made it so difficult to iron from a bed that I would be sleeping on later. It was very difficult to iron bending my knees and back just to iron. This is not normal practice under hotel health and safety act to use a bed to do ironing especially in a hotel one would never expect this!!|| || 8. On 2nd day my body was filled with these awful painful bites all over my body, had to visit the local chemist to seek medical help. I had seen a bug that morning on the bed, and presented the photos to the chemist, and the advised me that “yes we confirm it is bed bugs after checking my body and giving me high cortisone antiseptic creams/sprays and told me that I should also inform the hotel as this was not only poor practice but very poor hygiene under health and safety act of any hotel procedures before letting out their room outs as business and they should address this issue immediately. I also had notice the bedsheets were not changed daily when had put the sign out for room cleaning service daily, only on the last day the bed sheets were changed. Guest should not have to repeatedly ask for such things when a hotel as a business is making revenue should be automatically following hygiene practices when running a hotel. I had informed the hotel of the bed bugs but the said they will change the sheets. Bed bugs is an infestation and should have been dealt with the pest control to exterminate the bugs.|| || 9. On the 2nd day returning to the hotel, I witness the Hotel manager smoking literary outside the main entrance of the hotel, it is very rude and unacceptable of the hotels reputation. He then said a very low key hello without a smile. Not place many Olympic guest attending or players etc. would want to experience such a hotel that needs closing for full repairs and re-training the staff their staff. Is this really Paris, as this would not happen in England not even at a...
Read moreMy family and I had such an awful experience here and an even worse experience with the customer service after trying to get our money back for nights we didn’t even stay here. I’m not sure how this hotel is open to the public it is under major renovation right now and the rooms they still have open are the ones that have not been renovated. There were so many health and safety concerns at the property. The stairway was shut down so access to the upper floors was elevator only in case of a fire this would be deadly. The AC in the rooms was not working and the hotel was very hot. We had to sleep with the windows open but they opened up to construction platforms which felt very unsafe literally anyone could have gotten into the room on the 4th floor from the construction platforms that were set up. We woke up to a construction worker smoking a cigarette right outside our window the whole room smelled like smoke it was disgusting. The cleaning standards here were awful the showers and bathroom spaces were filled with mold. the paint in the room was pealing away. Bedding was stained. My family and I had three rooms booked here and our entire group got sick because of the mold and construction dust that was in the air. We checked out immediately because of how sick everyone is our group was from the mold exposure. The hotel refused to give us a refund for the nights we didn’t say saying our booking was not refundable. We were visiting with our 90 year old grandparents who also got sick from the poor conditions of the hotel and had to get them somewhere safe to stay. We were all also woken up at 8 am by construction that was happening literally in the rooms right next to ours. Horrible experience all around. The hotel kept telling us the manager was gone and would be back the following day for 6 days straight. It wasn’t until we got the third party booking site involved did they even respond. Horrible accommodations and even worse customer service. When booking a three star accommodation our expectations are just to have somewhere safe and clean today. Disappointing this hotel is allowed to be open to the public and maintain the 3 star rating that they have. If the property manager sees this review I would still like to discuss a refund for my family’s horrific experience we had at...
Read moreThis is a conveniently located hotel, 20 minutes easy walk from the Eurostar terminal at the Gare du Nord train station. We stayed for three nights as a family of 4. The hotel is located in a cluster of small hotels in a side street. Whilst there are certain elements of the hotel that are a bit tired, it served our needs very well. ||The reception area is well appointed and contains a 24 hour reception desk. You may find that you need to ring the buzzer to access the hotel later in the evenings. The corridors and stairways are quite tired looking but this is an old building. There is a very small lift for access to the upper floors but we only used this once, even though we were on the second floor.||Our room was best described as sufficient and represented good value for money. The carpet could have done with being replaced and the bathroom was 'fine'. The beds were clean and comfortable. ||The hotel has no bar or restaurant facilities but does have a breakfast room. Breakfast was included with our booking and consisted of a good selection of items. Each day there were choices of breads, pastries, cold meats, cheeses, cereals, fruit as well as scrambled eggs, sausage and the facility to boil and egg yourself to your own timing. There was a tendency for items to run out - we found arriving before 9am avoided this issue. I am happy to say that breakfast exceeded our expectations.||The location is good. There is a carrefour supermarket 1 min away, the nearest metro station about 3 minutes and a huge number of cafes and restaurants pretty much everywhere. We actually found the easiest way to get around was on foot. Its about 25 minutes to the Louvre (this is not an easy attraction to actually get into - you need to do some research well ahead of schedule and buy tickets in advance). We also walked to the Jardin du Luxembourg, Notre Dame, the popular Westfield shopping centre and the centre pompidou.||Its worth a special mention that on our last day, after checking out and leaving our luggage at the hotel for collection later that day, we got caught in a thunderstorm and utterly drenched. The receptionist very kindly allowed us to use a room to get changed before catching the train back to London - I cannot express how grateful we were for this!||We would def use this...
