I was more than impressed with this hotel. ||The location is terrific. Just a quick walk through a small park from the Gare Saint Lazarre (hint - don't exit the metro through the marked exits - go upstairs to the level with the trains and exit the station to the right of the trains, as you're facing the tracks. The exit is just past the trains that go to Normandy. This will put you up the hill towards the hotel.) The hotel is on a quiet street, with pharmacies, restaurants, and quick bites to eat. Le Comptoir de l'europe is a nice little cafe to sit in the evening for people watching (see Alex, he's great), and Pacha Kebob is a take out joint with really good food and generous portions at a great price.||Take a short walk northeast towards Mont Martre, and you're in the Pigalle, a great neighborhood for restaurants and wonderful shopping. A few blocks to the south, and you're at Au Printemps, a large department store.||Yes, the rooms are small, but that's normal in Paris, by US standards. But, they are clean, the shower is hot, the beds are comfortable, and the A/C works beautifully; after a long day of walking around the gorgeous city of Paris, it was perfect. We slept well. Our room had a safe, a second sink, and a small refrigerator.||I found the staff to be very kind and helpful. Yes, most of them spoke English, but knowing a little bit of French (bonjour, pardon, merci) goes a long way to open the door to communication in all of Paris. ||Great value, safe hotel. I...

Read moreAVOID AVOID AVOID!!! Found on HotelsTonight but called and booked directly with the manager. Rooms are so small you literally cannot open a single carry on suitcase unless you put it on top of the bed. The room was about 6" bigger than the bed on all sides with no room to walk or put anything down. You couldn't even open the window without hitting into the lamp which was fixed to the tiny bedside table. On top of the that the customer service is awful and the manager is dishonest. Was promised that bogus charges would be removed "as soon as the manager arrived" but this never happened and when I called and spoke to him directly after checking out he still refused to remove charges for a night we never even stayed. So if you have no luggage, are traveling alone and want to be lied to then this hotel is for you! Good location but irrelevant given the rest of the issues with this place. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!! Tons of better...
