Technically, I did not stay. I went to bed at midnight and was viciously bitten by bed bugs (fleas) until around 1:30 AM, when I decided to leave. The front desk person told me that he cannot give me another bed because it was full, but in fact, I did not wanted to stay there. I walked the rest of the night until dawn, because at 2 AM is very difficult to get another room in that neighborhood, especially being my first trip to Paris. I paid 19 euros for this "experience". Next day I went back, because i forgot to deliver the keys. At the front desk, another employee in charge told me -after I requested a refund-, that I need proof that I was bitten, such as pics of bed linen with stains of blood. He even suggested that I use old pics that someone else had posted, when I told him that I had not taken any pic. He was aware that the hostel has this problem, but said it would be difficult to get a refund, and that request has to be done through "Booking.com". I told him that a refund won't help me much, as I already passed a night without sleep and had my body covered in bug bites, but that I feel my duty to inform other travelers about what can be expected at this place. He admitted that the employee at front desk gave me a wrong information, because they had other beds available the night before.||I attach here a couple of pictures as proof that I'm telling the truth. Some bites caused an allergic reaction, in which pustules formed that I had to blow and clean. Also had to buy medication to alleviate the itch during the rest of the trip. Since the fleas that bitten me must have bitten other people, I need to do a blood test to verify that I’m not infected with some disease. This hostel should be shut down by a sanitary institution, because it does not meet the basic...

Read moreI took this option honestly because it was on the cheaper side in Paris and in hindsight, you get what you pay for. We had to wait in the check-in area after our check-in time because the rooms were not cleaned yet. The beds had clean sheets but everything else in the room looked dirty. There was a bunch of stuff that did not seem to belong to anyone from the room currently lying around. We had a very rude roommate who couldn't stop talking but that's just bad luck I guess.
The staff are super helpful. The location is very good but also very sketchy. Good in the sense that it is close to major attractions at a good price. Bad in the sense that there are some shady looking people selling cigarettes or just idling outside all day and night.
The hostel has one big locker for all customer bags and one room for valuables. There is no strict system on how the locker works because they'd just open the locker and tell me to pick what's mine. Maybe Paris just trusts everyone.
I would not advise staying at this place when you are travelling alone or you are concerned about your personal safety.
It made me regret staying in Paris...
