Upon arrival to this apartment, we felt a sense of unfamiliarity for a while because it felt like we were entering a stranger’s house, missing some warmth. Initial impression was that it didn’t feel like a place for stay, it’s more like a store. We later got more comfortable when the reception showed his hospitality and tried to ensure we felt assured and comfortable. Having said this, one would’ve read on the website to expect this vibe, before making the reservation.
Location: perfect for exploring south of the River Seine, we stayed here for 3 days and location is superb. Few mins walk to the buzzing streets of St Germain with food, restaurants, music and colourful shops. It’s also within 5-8 mins walk from Odeon tube. It was really convenient to get around.
Service: rendered by the butler / receptionist was professional. He showed care and tried his best to recommend places, and made talks with us to ensure we felt comfortable. He bothered to welcome us, and asked us how was our day. He was also assuring and acceded to adhoc requests.
Rooms: establishment and rooms were dated, wooden structure, and with old charm. It was acceptable overall. But do not have very high expectations because this is an old building to begin with. Also, this place has a lift, which is often time not found in boutique hotels in Paris. Restrooms however were also very dated and had only the basic amenities.
Overall, I give this location a 4 stars because of the homely vibe it left with us, together with location and...
Read moreMy wife and I recently stayed at this wonderful hotel with our two children. We booked the junior suite which is on the main floor. We are very glad that we had the good fortune to find this hotel back when we booked our reservation last year. We are from the US and we appreciate how welcoming all the staff members were to us throughout our reservation. They all seemed to care and take pride in their work and in their establishment in a way that we typically don’t see at American hotels. I especially would like to thank Lauent for being so helpful in answering our many questions we had - both before and during our stay. For those of you are looking for a large hotel with a huge lobby, this is not for you. However, it was perfect for our needs. The rooms were a good size and well-furnished and maintained. The rooms and hotel interior had its own unique style to it, which we appreciated as it was a departure from the cookie-cutter style of hotel that we often see in the US. I will add that we were visiting our daughter who was studying abroad for a semester in Paris. This is our second visit to Paris in the past three months and I would say that from our combined experience, my family has learned to appreciate the culture and the way of life of the French people. I think that many Americans would benefit from the experience.and could maybe learn a few things. We hope to...

If you are visiting Paris on vacation and are looking for a hotel that is within walking distance to all of the sites but on a quiet enough street so that you can get some sleep at night, look no further. This hotel is mere steps away from the Luxembourg Gardens. For history lovers, you will find yourself in the center of the Cordelier's District, right next door to the home of Camille Desmoulins.
The staff were always warm and inviting. They knew us by name, offered us an umbrella when it rained, and always made our room tidy when we were gone during the day. There is an elevator so you don't have to walk up the stairs at the end of a long day of sightseeing. The air conditioning kept us cool throughout the night. The WiFi was a bit spotty, but worked well enough for us.
When we return to Paris in a few years, we already know that we will be staying at the Relais Medicis again (and hope the same lovely staff will still be working there). This charming hotel was magical and truly...
