We were there March 12-17 and we felt the front desk representatives were not helpful or friendly. It was hard to get directions and taxis, they always seemed bothered by questions. They kept pushing the metro on us. We also felt that the breakfast was absolutely not worth it, looks better in pictures and they don’t serve real coffee, it comes like a vending machine. Tastes like plastic with fake milk. We went to Pret Manager every morning instead. I believe the breakfast at the hotel was 18 euro a person, which is way to expensive for the options there. Rooms were very dusty. Musty smell in them, had to air out the room upon arrival. They don’t help you with your bags going up either. When we arrived the air conditioner was on full blast and they don’t tell you how to use the heat. Paris was cold this week, heat was needed. The heater when we finally got it on smelt so bad and would have a cracking noise all night. The hallways have character but the dust is and ageing is bad. The elevator top looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in years. The rooms are tiny, way smaller than they look online - they should upload more accurate pictures. We also felt the lobby had a bad scent. The walls were very thin, we heard our neighbours clearly all night long. Also, they had water in the lobby in a bowl that looked like I had never been cleaned. The one time we had water the water was dirty and taste horrible. I wouldn’t suggest this hotel unfortunately and I am a travel agent who stayed here based on its location, website photos, and reviews. Unfortunately we didn’t express the concerns to the front desk because they were not welcoming or helping at all. The best is when I had them call me a taxi and the taxi line was on hold for a while I told the front desk man I was calling Uber instead and he said no because I can’t cancel the taxi you’ll have to pay it anyway once it comes. But I was late for a dinner reservation so I don’t understand why it’s my obligation to pay a taxi that isn’t coming in time for me. Just things like this were frustrating to deal with. We also never got our room cleaned from the house keeper because she was not friendly and we didn’t feel comfortable with her going into our room. The housekeeping cart looked really messy overall, would not suggest people stay here. I am a travel agent back in Toronto and this was my first time in paris so I thought I would find a hotel I can send clients to but I cannot send clients to Hotel Trianon Rive Gauche, they will not...
Read moreI stayed at Hôtel Trianon Rive Gauche from Tuesday, March 25 to Friday, March 28, 2025, and I can honestly say it was the worst hotel I’ve ever experienced.
From the moment I arrived, the staff made no effort to welcome me. Instead, I was met with dismissiveness and arrogance, as though my presence was an inconvenience rather than that of a paying guest.
When I finally got to my room later that evening, I was immediately overwhelmed by a foul smell coming from the bathroom, clearly something that had not been addressed prior to my arrival. On top of that, I was given a room directly next to the stairs and opposite the lift, which made for an extremely noisy environment. It felt like I’d been placed in the worst room in the building. Throughout the night, I was kept awake by constant noise, people going up and down the stairs, the lift opening and closing, and echoing footsteps. As a result, I missed several important 8 AM meetings because I couldn’t get any proper rest.
The most appalling moment came on Wednesday night, when I was jolted awake at 2 AM by staff collecting dirty towels right outside my door which lasted 1 hour. When I raised a complaint, I was met with complete indifference and told there was “nothing they could do.”
I was offered breakfast as compensation which was completely unhelpful, as I was checking out at 5 AM on Friday and wouldn’t even be around for it. All I wanted was a good night’s sleep, not food. It’s unacceptable, especially given that I was in Paris for a week of high-stakes meetings with regulators and senior officials. Being exhausted every day was not an option.
This place has absolutely no business advertising itself as a 4-star hotel, it operates more like a 1-star motel. The service was appalling, the day staff were consistently rude and dismissive (with the exception of the night concierge and a lovely day concierge who took time to show me how to use the bus system around Paris), these two men were really lovely.
The only redeeming factor is its location in the charming 6th arrondissement. But even that cannot make up for the overall lack of professionalism, comfort, or care.
I will never return to this motel (let’s not kid ourselves by calling it a hotel), and I strongly advise others to look elsewhere. The standards here are...
Read moreAs a hotel, it leaves a lot to be desired... I stayed there for a month and there were several unforeseen events, some of them completely inappropriate. One day, the housekeeping left the room open all day. When I arrived, my room door was open. At reception, I was told it was an oversight... How could anyone forget not only to close the door, but also to leave it wide open? All my personal belongings were inside, so I considered it a very serious fault, but the reception just said "I'm sorry", as if it wasn't a serious matter. On top of that, they were doing construction work and started drilling as early as 8am... in the room next door... even on Saturday. They have no consideration for our paying customers. Another day, they cut off the electricity, so we were left with no internet, no electricity, no elevator... nothing, I had to go to a cafeteria while I was in the middle of an online meeting. They could have warned us earlier .... I made two reservations before arriving, I asked when I could pay for the second reservation (since the first one I had to pay in advance) and they told me at the end of my stay. My surprise was when I got to my room and saw that I could not enter, they had closed it until I paid.... I asked to be let into the room so I could take my bank card and withdraw money and they only let me in until I paid... pitiful.... I could hear absolutely everything, I could clearly hear all the conversations they had in the next room. If you are looking for tranquility and things well done, this is certainly not the place. I have to go back to Paris next month, and I will certainly not return to this hotel.
And to their response to my comment, they lie to make themselves look good. I understand that there was a problem with the latch and that they notified the maintenance service, but that they left the door open is a different story, because if a hotel worker enters a room of a client he has to make sure that he leaves the door closed, and if he sees that there is a problem with the latch, notify him immediately not to leave that door open (as was the case). I don't know what complimentary night with breakfast they are talking about, I only had breakfast there once and I had...
