Excellent||I stayed for 9 nights in this charming hotel in the 5th arrondissement. I asked for (and got) a room facing the court that was very quiet. The bathroom was spacious and very clean, as was the rest of the room, everything looked well kept. The bed was good and there were fascilities to make coffee and tea. Every day a bottle of mineral water in the room. ||One negative thing: there were only two electricity sockets in the room and they were not near the bed, nor one in the bathroom (electric razor and toothbrush). There was very little room to put your laptop and personal things on a small space (also used for the tea kettle and cups) near the only two electricity sockets. ||I only used the breakfast room once but the food was fresh and a great variety of eggs, cheeses, meat, bread, yogurt and vegan choices. ||The staff of the hotel is extremely friendly, with good manners and helpful and makes you feel welome. The lobby and the garden room look freshly painted with a mix of traditional and modern. Newspapers (NY Times) in the lobby. There is a very wonderful boulangerie next to the hotel and there are good cafes and smaller restaurants close by. ||When you want to stay in Paris a bit away from the busy boulevards, this hotel is and excellent choice. The nearest Metro is about a 10 minutes walk (line 7). I can...
Read moreHotel Serotel Lutece was a dream hotel! We could not have asked for a better hotel and we still have fond memories of staying there. We stayed for three nights and were treated superbly.
We were greeted by Joao who checked us in and he took care of everything! He is truly a gem with his attentiveness to providing excellent customer service and having a wide range of knowledge about a variety of things (like history!). It was absolutely fun talking with him. He is multi-lingual and flows in and out of languages effortlessly. He made our stay even more enjoyable! We hope to see him again!
The breakfast is out of this world! We were in awe at the selection provided and the absolute freshness of each item. We looked forward to starting our day off with a filling meal. The mini pain au chocolat were perfect!
Our room had a balcony and it was a joy to look outside and enjoy the scenery. A plus was that we also had AC, which we were not expecting. Another plus was that we were in the vibrant Latin quarter and a few blocks down had dozens of restaurants and shops (Alberto gelateria has the best glacé, Savannah Cafe is fun and has great food and Creperia Oroyona has delicious crepes!).
Everyone at the hotel offered great hospitality and we will absolutely stay...
Read moreThere is much thst is good about this hotel but also some frustrstions and dissapointments ; The hotel is extremley well appointed and well decorated ... however this is achived with mastery in achitectual engineering it leans towards a feeling of a " dolls house" everything seems on a mini scale corridors and tiny rooms are "compact" !! Everything is there and fits in neatly but it does feel tiny and claustrophobic ! All the staff are freindly polite and welcoming ...however this cannot make good the frustration of being notified just a few days before arrival date that they would not be able to provide a room for us parents on the same floor as our 3 childrens room despite the fact that we had booked many months previous with our request for rooms as close as poss. This for me is unforgiveable and unaceptable and must be down to mismanagement. No on site parking. They seemed to be trying with the breakfast but a few small issues ; run out of Croisents with a a 20 min wait, a vast sellection of fancy tea bags but hot water not an adequate temp for the tea to brew, no mustard available for the sausages ...... All in all a...
