This is one of the most difficult reviews we are writing after 26 days in France. We were drawn to this restaurant by its #1 ranking in TripAdvisor and its menu. We had a noon reservation and were one of the first customers in this rather small establishment. We were warmly greeted by the owner, shown to our table and introduced to a delightful young lady who was to be our server. We had wonderful conversations, prompt service and proceeded to order our pizzas. As the attached receipt shows, we ordered the Sinfonia, the Travitata, and a bottle of wine. The food was absolutely delicious, and we enjoyed our meal immensely, so much so that we promised them we would return on the back half of our trip around France. We changed our minds based on two reasons. At the end of our delicious meal, when the server brought the charge machine, I noticed the wording “Tips Not Included”. Now we are aware that Service is, by law, already included at all restaurants in France; but having shared a delightful bottle of wine with my wife, I questioned our waitress, “So does this mean the Service is not included (Service, not Tips),” and she replied “Yes, not included.” Note that the printed receipt also says, in very large letters, “Tips not included.” Being the generous Americans that we are, we left a 30% tip. I believe that this a very deceptive practice on the part of this establishment. I would be willing to venture that there are two types of receipts at this place--one for tourists and one for locals (where the locals’ receipts do not say “Tips not included”), but I could be wrong. When I had time to reflect on what occurred, I kicked myself but also vowed not to return to this place again, despite the wonderful food and service. And we did not return there. Upon our return to Paris four weeks later, we chose to return to Iovines, which has equally exceptional pizzas and service (and does not play games with its receipts). Pizzeria Arrivederci may want to consider using "Prix nets, service compris" on its receipts like every other restaurant we ate at in France over 26 days. The second thing--just my opinion that I can neither prove nor disprove (and has been pointed out by others in their reviews)--how does a small Italian restaurant in Paris, the city of food, get the #1 ranking on TripAdvisor? In going through its reviews and seeing the number of those posted by individuals who have posted only one review on TripAdvisor (as if they have only ever visited one place in their TripAdvisor history) makes us wonder and say “Hmmm?!?” Just saying, buyer beware of the...

Revised review: the food review went up a notch (probably a better choice than last time) with lasagna tarfuffo and pizza tarfuffo (great crispy dough). The deserts were top notch, really excellent tiramisu and panacotta pistacchio. The staff was lovely, and the food quickly served. That being said, there is still a bit of room to be a 5-star: it is rather expensive (especially the pizze) and the digital menu really sucks. Not user friendly, small fonts, not graphic enough. Maybe if you switched back to proper menus that would be much better. Also, the restaurant was packed and the room is very noisy. Initial Review: a good local Italian joint in the 5th (worth 3.5 stars I believe). We had pizze veg and norma, and two tagliatelle. the tagliatelle bolognese was good, while one of pizze was slightly on the overcooked side (to our liking) and the taglietelle Tonno was a bit dryer and oilier than expected (and the pasta on the chewy side - perhaps it was done first and waited for the other dishes to be completed). Also, would have appreciated paper menus (we came with an elder, and the tablet experience was not satisfying). Last - the cafe gourmand was on the expensive side (as well as the wine options). Thanks to the staff for giving us the best table to accommodate for the low mobility...

Me and my friend came here to celebrate my birthday. When I reserved i left a little notification about that. When we arrived, they served us a little glas of prosecco and with dessert, they put a little candle. For me it made my day wholesome and i was very grateful for that.

The service people are amazing and friendly. They keep an eye out for everything you need. They do ask you to write a review after you visit, and with the quality they served they got a good one for me.

Food was amazing, we both had pizza. The crust is very crispy. Be aware when you order the pizza truffle, the flavors are amazing, pizza is getting quickly cold, so if youre bothered by that, read the menu, because it's due to the cheese they put on afterwards. I still recommend this amazing pizza! Because i didn't mind and it was amazing.

Dessert gourmand was amazing, best panna cotta i ever had, and i am not much of a fan normally, tiramisu with it amazing.

Place is small, people next to can bump into to you when their cutting their food. Be humble and you have a great time. If the lights in the restaurant being dimmed just a notch you would have a greater athomspehere.

Thank you for making my birthday amazing, and we will definitely...
