This hotel is very convenient to the Strasbourg City center. We stayed two weekend nights during the very busy Christmas season just before Christmas day. For the high Christmas season we got a fairly decent rate which we had booked well in advance. Our room faced the city and we had a nice view of the cathedral. The room itself was small but well laid out. The shelving/clothes rack unit provided a surprising amount of storage for out things. The room was very clean. The room was comfortable and mostly quiet. There is a club downstairs (?) under the hotel (?) and we did hear a little street noise late at night (it was a weekend) with people leaving the club/making noise outside but it was not a big problem and we still slept well. Like most of the rooms in France in the winter, this was a bit warm for me--even with the heat turned off or at its lowest settings and the windows do not open. It was not hot but I would have preferred it a bit cooler. The bathroom and shower were fine. The bathroom door and the door to the room seemed to fight with one another and it would have been helpful to have a hook or something to keep the room door open so that when accessing the bathroom during the night, you didn't have to struggle with the doors. |My biggest complaint was with the email alerts leading up to our stay. I got received email a few days in advance, after doing a preliminary online check in (the night before ) and one the morning of alerting me that our room would be ready at 12:00 noon. We arrived just after noon and were told that during the busy Christmas season, the check-in is at 3:00 p.m. This is understandable and I do not object to the policy. I do object to the multiple email messages alerting me that I could check in at 12:00 if that was not the policy. We had planned to check-in and rest up a bit before heading out on the town. Instead we left our bags and returned several hours later. It was not a huge problem but if they have a different check in policy during the busy holidays, they should alter their automated e-mails. Otherwise, this was a convenient place to stay (pretty close to the train station and very close to the city center). They probably have pretty low rates when it is not the...
Read moreBasic, OK but could be better. ||Stay 27-29/07/2025||Had travelled by Eurostar arriving around 8.30pm. Asked if there was anywhere we could get food. Was pointed in the direction of a KFC. Thought might have been able to get at least a snack in the hotel. So if arriving late have a plan for somewhere to eat||Not sure if we had walked round the building which could have been quite a walk as looked like it was part of a shopping centre, we might have found a ramp as there was a large number of steps up to the hotel. Not ideal when travelling with a suitcase. ||Stayed in Ibis before so was expecting basic. ||Check in was good, quick, reception, polite, friendly and professional. ||Room small but comfortable. Even though a double room, was just OK for me on my own so might not be so great if sharing. Toiletries OK. Air con OK. View from room disappointing overlooking what looked like an unkempt rooftop garden, but not unexpected. ||No fridge, but not surprising at price point. ||Filtered water available free in reception. ||Didn't use bar or restaurant during stay. ||Asked about safety deposit box as none in room. Both the hotel website and Booking.com say there is a safety deposit box. Asked at reception to be told that there wasn't one so that needs addressing immediately and websites updating or staff made aware of where it is. I would expect this as standard in even the most budget of rooms. Had to carry my passport and valuables around with me. Not ideal especially as it was wet weather and could risk passport suffering water damage. ||Good location not too far from the beautiful area of Petit France. I wish that my stay in Strasbourg had been longer I would have loved more time to explore such a lovely place.||Ate at L'Oignon. Food fabulous. Staff great. Lovely ambience. French onion soup exceeded...
Read moreI must say, it was a delightful experience. The value for money this hotel offers is remarkable. One of the standout features of this hotel is its location. Situated close to the city center and the charming old town, I found myself within walking distance of many of Strasbourg's top attractions. Exploring the city was a breeze.
The check-in process was both fast and welcoming. The receptionist I interacted with was friendly and spoke English fluently. My room on the seventh floor offered a clean and comfortable space with a great view.
The only minor downside was the absence of a refrigerator and a safe box in the room, which would have been convenient for storing valuables and beverages.
The bathroom in the room was spacious and well-maintained,
The breakfast offered was of high quality, featuring a variety of organic bio fruits, low-sugar products, freshly prepared eggs and bacon, as well as locally baked goods. The combination of these options provided a delicious and wholesome breakfast banquet.
I highly recommend...
