The hotel markets itself as a Boutique hotel but it misses the mark in many areas. The rooms downstairs are renovated and are stylish but those upstairs are plain and functional. The pool area looks great on the photos but when we stayed the pool wasn’t filled fully and had a lot of debris in it - there was a pool cleaner in the pool but hadn’t been used in days (no it wasn’t a self cleaning pool!) so we didn't use the pool. The breakfast was included and on the first two days we had asked for lattes which we were given . But a new waiter arrived and he said we were only allowed black coffee and if you wanted hot milk you had to pay extra. We asked for eggs and the order was slow and wrong on one of the occasions. The rooms are clean when you arrive but after that the housekeeping only involved clearing bins and providing new towels and “throwing the covers”back over the bed. There was no cleaning the shower area or hoovering the floor. We regularly had to get our own toilet paper as this was not regularly replenished in the room. The staff cleaning the rooms spent a lot of their time on a sofa in the bedroom hallway on their phones . . The toilet was blocked and there was no alternative to shower elsewhere so luckily we had another room we could use from another family member staying at the hotel. There are also a number of dogs kept in the house next door so if you are on that side of the building they are noisy throughout the night. So overall the beds were comfortable and the rooms were functional albeit basic upstairs . The staff are not trained to make it your best boutique...
Read moreWe booked for 3 nights but ended up staying only 1. On the first day, we reported a strong odor in the room (seemed to come from the wallpaper - very strong damp odor) and a very dirty A/C filter. Even after we asked for it to be cleaned, the filter was still visibly dirty (pics took after they “cleaned” it), and the smell remained — they just sprayed perfume to mask it. Unfortunately, there were no other rooms available.
The main reason we left was that on the second night, we found two scorpions INSIDE the room (after seeing another one near the pool the day before). We had to leave and find another hotel late at night and came back in the morning to get our luggage. While the hotel kindly refunded us for the remaining nights, we just didn’t feel comfortable staying after that, regardless if it’s a city or area issue, we didn’t feel safe staying in a place you find 2 scorpions in your room.
Service overall felt a bit cold, especially at the restaurant/bar, which made the experience less welcoming.
On the positive side, we appreciated that management understood the situation and processed our...
Read moreThis is an exceptional boutique hotel. It is in an old, refurbished building a few minutes walk from the central part of the city. Rooms are comfortable and tastefully decorated. There is a small pool that is great for cooling off after a hot day of sightseeing. Doli Restaurant on the first floor of the hotel serves a variety of Georgian dishes. We had several meals there and every dish was well-prepared and tasty.||The staff provide friendly and personal service. Kristine at the Front Desk helped us with ordering taxis, arranging laundry service, and answered numerous questions about local sights. In the Doli dining room, Annie (spelling?) and Nini provided detailed information about the Georgian dishes on the menu. We thank them all for making our stay a very...
