Very expensive place. We shared a Greek salad, ate a plate with cheese, had the four wine tasting package. Not much wine in the glasses you get to try. Afterwards, we drank four glasses of wine.
This was by far the most costly experience we had in Kutaisi: ≈ €60. At our fancy hotel, we were served much more wine and ate two main courses for less than half of that.
We did a wine tasting in Tbilisi and it was 1/3 the price and twice as much food and wine (5 different types of Georgian wine, each glass half full, not just a few drops and had a Sommelier explain each wine in great detail).
They don't tell you in advance that there is a 18% tax on all prices. Sure, it says so in the fine print on the menu...but no other restaurants we visited in Kutaisi do this.
Super loud music playing on a large TV screen does not make the ambiance nicer. Why not play Georgian music instead of...
Read moreWe wanted to go to the Palaty restaurant nearby, but it was full. The waiter in Palaty told us they have a new restaurant with the same food (he called it „Palaty 3“) and took us to the wine bar. The waiters in the wine bar were all super nice BUT it‘s definitely not „Palaty 3“. The food selection is tiny! For main course they only have pork kebab and sausage. But the worst thing was the live music. The music was so loud that we couldn‘t understand each other anymore and had to shout. Sometimes it got so loud it was extremely disturbing. I go to a restaurant for the food. If I wanted live music I would go to a concert. Moreover, the prices are a bit higher. We went to some restaurants in Tbilisi that were less or equally expensive but were a lot fancier...
Read moreCame here with a friend to taste some wine and what a good time that we had. The guys working there are super cool have great English and are happy for you to try almost wines. We tried 3 wines and some local sprit all for free. But we did buy a bottle of wine after I think it’s a must for the service that you get. You can either drink there or take the bottle away with you. Georgia has such a vast history of wine and it would be disappointing if you didn’t get the chance to try a few quality wines. They specialise in small batch wine working with local producers rather than big companies which I thought was...
