Pension Mädchenkammer — Hotel in Berlin

We arrived at about 8:30pm, after calling the reception whilst at the airport to say we would be 10 minutes. As we arrived, the owner (I completely forgot his name, sorry) came out, speaking great English, and showed us to our room. ||We were staying in Room 1, it was lovely and clean, we had fresh hand towels to use, toilet rolls, hand wash, everything was in great condition. The shower was powerful and stayed hot for the duration. No faults on the bathroom front. You could tell it was just really well maintained. ||There was a small staircase up to the bedroom, and there were fresh duvets, pillows, bed sheets. Again, extremely clean. The ceiling was low (my friend could just stand up and he was 5'7/8). Myself and my other friend are just below 6ft so we struggled slightly but it's not terrible, we easily made do with it, and after all, in bed all you're doing is lying down!||It's about a 5 minute walk from the Underground (U2) which takes you from Pankow to Olympiastadion, which is the inbetween to pretty much everywhere in Berlin.||Overall it was a brilliant place to lay your head, nice garden to relax in the sun, brilliant owner who speaks English well, extremely clean and organised, very relaxing and calming environment. Thoroughly enjoyable weekend for the sites and also the stay... And for the price you pay, in basically the middle of Berlin, it is very much worth the money!||Would suggest the Pension...

When I first made this booking I was asked to give my approximate time of arrival, which I did. When I then arrived in Berlin I was told the owner was an hour away from Berlin but she has left the key in a safe for us. When we arrived, the safe was behind a door which we didn't have a key to. We then had to wait for the owners daughter to come and let us in. The room itself is nothing special, the beds are comfortable but that's about it. The shower wasn't nice and the temperature was hard to get right. We found the organisation of the owners bad as firstly there was nobody to greet us and give us a key, secondly the owner went into the apartment when we were out without asking / telling us us they would do, and thirdly, when it came to paying, we were asked to wait in the apartment for a few hours until they could come. We eventually managed to give it to somebody else and get a receipt so we could leave the apartment and explore Berlin! Overall it was an ok apartment but very bad...

We had a very simple yet nice and confortable room overlooking the inner courtyard. Ideal if you want to have a nice quiet sleep after walking around Berlin all day long! In the room there is also a fridge, and all you need to make some coffee or thee. ||The street itself is agreable and quiet and around the corner, you have a tube, a tram and a bus stations, supermarkets and various shop.
