I was wrongfully treated like a thief at this hotel.
We did tell them our room number etc and actually explained to the staff we did not book with breakfast, however, we were accused of stealing breakfast in the end. (How can someone who actually stays in the hotel steal food when they literally tell the staff their room number? We explained we would like to pay at the checkout as well because why not? Or pay upfront if needed).
The staff could have told us to pay upfront or simply refused us without booking breakfast in advance, if it wasn’t possible to pay at checkout. Maybe she didn’t understand anything we said but somehow “misunderstood” that we were stealing right in front of her!? That’d be absolutely and utterly insane wouldn’t it!? What’s the logic? Or is this a scam? (They charged us extra for “stealing”)
Btw She literally did not say anything but “Okay” when we were trying to communicate.
I didn’t book a room with breakfast as we thought it’d be nice to go out and grab something in a local cafe, however, we changed our mind since we weren’t feeling very well after a long flight. So we went to the restaurant to have breakfast. The staff at the restaurant asked us our room number. We gave her the number and told her that we didn’t book with breakfast, she didn’t say anything but making a note, we asked her if we could pay when we check out, she didn’t say anything again. We thought she just didn’t know what to say to us since she barely spoke English, and she wasn’t a responsive person which is not that weird. We didn’t think much of it considering we gave her our room number and clearly she could see that it wasn’t on the list, and she was making a note. We said to her “Okay?”, she replied “okay”.
We assumed we would be charged at the check out so proceeded to get a plate and food. But we were wrong to guess that. Apparently she called the manager despite the fact that she said “okay” and stood there saying nothing, while we were taking food and drinks. The manager was already very confrontational and accused us of stealing without fully understanding the situation (didn’t even ask any questions). I mean we explained to the staff and she could have said no? Even though she barely speaks English she can say “No” at least.
We were so taken aback by the fact that we were accused of being thieves in front of everyone, even though we tried to make everything clear. We needed to pay extra for trying to “steal” as well. Is this some kind of scam?
I’m sorry but not every guest speaks German, and you decided to hire someone who is so incompetent of understanding English at the reception of the restaurant for some reason. On top of that, the manager didn’t even try to comprehend what was going on.
I’m very curious to know how someone who actually stays at the hotel manage to “steal” food when they give your staff the room number? She explained to us absolutely nothing. How is that our fault when your staff can’t even instruct guests what to do? Or were we the first and ever guests who wanted the breakfast without booking in advance?
Utterly ridiculous accusation and such poor management. Maybe put someone who’s actually capable of understanding English at the front desk of the restaurant then? And the manager needs to calm down for her own sake, it makes you look so unprofessional.
The room was like a class room with awful flooring. The bed and mattress were so cheap. The bathroom wasn’t clean (bathtub).
The worst thing was the lift, it moved really weirdly (every time it stopped it shook so much up and down). And ABSOLUTELY TINY. What kind of a joke to install such a small lift when you expect customers with luggage? In case you didn’t know I’ve got to tell you there’s only one lift afaik.
So we didn’t even use it as it felt very unsafe and so inconvenient even though we stayed at the top floor.
The location was pretty awful too, never ever imagined Germany would be unsafe and dirty (we went Frankfurt, Coln and Düsseldorf). The hotel was facing a massive road so it...

I booked a room online ahead of my stay. When my wife and I arrived, we were told they could not find my reservation. Even after providing the reservation number and last name, I was told they had no records of the reservation and that they likely didn’t have a room for us. After 20 minutes of waiting, the receptionist said she had found a room that we could stay in. Once we arrived at the room, I found that there wasn’t enough water pressure to shower. Informed the front desk before heading to dinner, and they assured me it would be fixed. After returning, the front desk verbally confirmed it had been fixed. Unfortunately, I checked again myself and found there was barely enough hot water to wash our hands. As it was after 2200, we decided to try and fix the problem the next morning. I reported this again the next day, and after they called me on the phone and instructed me to “turn the water on hot for 5 minutes” they agreed to give us a new room but not until that afternoon. They also said they would move our luggage for us and everything would be set for us upon return from exploring the Christmas markets. When we returned, we were once again disappointed to find our baggage had not been moved and keys were not ready. When we were finally given a new room, we were surprised to find our that it was very different from our first room—properly upgraded with a nice bathroom, working TV, and modern furniture as advertised in the photos online. As it turns out, the room we were given the first night (after they lost our reservation) was old and outdated. Due to their mismanagement with the reservation, they had given us a non-functioning room and planned to charge us the same amount. Frustrated, I brought up these concerns with the management at the front desk and they brushed it off as a non-issue. I’ve traveled across the world staying in both hostels and hotels and have yet to be as disappointed as I am from this stay in Hotel...
Read moreI booked this hotel looking at its great reviews. When I entered it was dark and had to wait for 15 mins to get checked in. Once I finished check in the receptionist asked me to follow....
She took me outside of the building and after crossing two restaurants on the street, we reached a small entrance. The elevator is not working for quite sometime she explained and took us through dirty looking staircase to a room. Room was dark.
These three rooms are detached from property and NO direct access to restaurant, Bar or lobby. One has to go out to street to and walk cross 2 restaurants to access it. No different than going to a neighboring hotel. Not sure if its even LEGAL?
I asked for a change in room to main building but they didnt honor my request. And told its the same building and everything is pretty normal. Never had this experience in my life.
I saw another review exactly same problem. "Highly disappointing, travelled for work including arranging the rooms for the CEO of my company. We were "upgraded" to mini suites, which was no more than leaving the the main entrance to enter another a close by building via a fire security staircase. The room was big, but the first thing to greet me, was a outdated student looking Ikea bedsofa with stains all over the cover. Friendly stuff, but for the price we paid, certainly very overvalued...
