We booked this trip a few weeks in advance, and were very happy that the date finally came around. The hotel is well organized from start to finish in my opinion, with guests being able to arrive by car, as in our case, and park just outside the main entrance to be able to check in swiftly.||Check-in itself went very fast, with the employee answering all our questions without any problems. We received our key and instructions on how to use the Car-lift, as we had booked one of the „upper-floor car-loft“ rooms. This definitely is one of the largest selling points of the hotel, and it definitely lives up to it. Once you arrive on your personal parking space on your terrace, with a beautiful view over Frankfurt Airport, it truly is an experience that you won’t forget quickly. From a security aspect is it nice to see that your car is right next to your room, and easily accessible incase you forgot something in your car, and the lift only functions with the keycard programmed to your room/floor, so no other person who stays in the same hotel can access your car/terrace.||The room was very spacious and extremely modern and clean, with a „living room“ area, along with the bed, which we will get onto soon, and a modern Bathroom, with separate Toilet and Shower. However, for people who might not be too intimate with each other, everything inside the room is just separated by a curtain and the doors for the toilet and shower have a substantial gap between them. Therefore we recommend only taking this room if you know the person you are staying with well. The ambience of the roof was very well set, with many warm lights, and a neon light, which you are able to turn on and off, for your car on the terrace. ||Unfortunately I am not able to give 5 stars, as the bed was extremely uncomfortable and very hard, which might be someones‘s taste, but unfortunately not ours, as we only got around an hour of sleep and woke up with heavy back pain. There are no bars under the bed for cushioning, as there is only a solid wooden plank holding the matrass. ||As we were only staying for a night and did not know any ‚procedures‘ the restaurant on the 12th floor, with a wonderful view of the Airport and it‘s runways, „The Roof“ was completely filled. As we asked if there was a place available, we were told that we needed to reserve, where I then wondered why we were not told that at check-in, even when I asked about the opening times of the restaurant (18-22h). We had to sit at a table in the lounge, which was still comfortable, so we were as lucky as we could have been in that situation.||What was very pleasing to find out was the friendliness of a waitress at dinner. It seemed like she was one of the only people catering to guests needs constantly, while most of the other waiters stood around and only served wine to some tables every couple of minutes. She was very friendly throughout our stay which lasted a couple hours in the evening.||The food there was absolutely delicious, however I would not go as far as saying that there is a large amount of choice either. Still, a very enjoyable diner with view of the Airport on one side and the skyline on the other.||The breakfast the following morning that we had booked had a large variety, and friendly and motivated kitchen staff.||To conclude our stay, it was very simple to go back down the car-lift, and to drive around the corner to check out, where unfortunately I was not asked if we had enjoyed my stay or if there was anything else that needed to be done. It did seem like the employe there had no interest in us being there, however this was not a big issue in the slightest.||Overall, we will hopefully be coming back, with maybe a bit more luck on the comfort of the bed for a good nights sleep. I definitely recommend this hotel for anyone interested in cars or...
Read moreThe hotel is basic but good for an overnight stay (I was arriving by train 11pm and had a 630am flight), looks new, functional, fine.
It would help future guests if the hotel expands the "how to reach us" section on their website, from the 2 airport terminals and 2 airport train stations.
For example, in case it helps others: arriving by train, and leaving from T2.
Arriving by national train at 11pm to frankfurt airport station, you just need to switch to the local line and ride 1 stop to Gateway Gardens, then walk 7mins. Ok cool with hand luggage.
The signs from main train station to local train station are clear, no problem, but then buying the ticket is not. The machines in the middle of the local station wont sell you the ticket, as they are national train machines (so why are they here?). You will try the machine a couple of times, and then go "mmm..". You will look around, and in a dark corner find 2 ticket machines with a different color. Those are the ones you want. Tap the screen, and it shows 15 different very detailed options (very german, like rieslings categories). Of course none of them say Gateway Gardens. So you spot the option to "enter station name", aha, then tap and type g-a-t-... and it shows no station with that name. You start to get annoyed and tap all buttons. Turns out, the one to tap is "Short Journey" at the bottom right. It will show you Gateway Gardens. Get that ticket. Then find the right platform (for that, look at the local train departures screen, which of course is not here, but back above the main line machines..).
Leaving from T2 The reason i booked the hotel is because my 630am was leaving from T2, and the reviews said it is a short walk from the hotel. Ok, fresh walk in the morning is good with me.
I go down 5am, check out, and ask the reception guy whats the best way to walk to T2. The answer is "i dont know i just been working here 6 weeks" (wait, so nobody asked you in 6 weeks? Com'on man). You dont have like a piece of paper with map instructions or smth? No. Ok no probs, maybe its ESG policy, no more straws and no more paper map instructions. so I do google maps.
You follow google map route, and it is true in 6-7 minutes you are right in front of terminal 2, at ground level (not a passenger level, more like infrastructure/machinery level) and with a maze of construction work, fences, cement barriers, etc which makes Frankfurt Airport T2 better defended from frontal assault than the fortress of The Guns of Navarone.
At this stage I am not about to walk back to the hotel because I have dignity, and there is not a person in sight at 5am to ask, so the only way is forward (slight left actually), so I go up a car ramp that has two lanes of buses going down past me at 70kmh, but its ok I guess cause there is a 35cm wide sidewalk, the true test of whether you luggage is cabin size luggage. Luckily at the end of the ramp, on the right was the drop off area of T2. But just imagine it its a family with kids, nightmare, divorce. I am sure there must be either a better way to get into the terminal (perhaps through the sewers, surprise assault) or if this construction mess is temporary the hotel guy could have told me and...
Read moreMy husband and I stayed just one night in b’mine Frankfurt as we missed a connection from Italy to the USA and could not get another flight out until the next day.
The proximity to the airport was very convenient, just a 7,50 💶 ride from the terminal.
You would think that the proximity would create a noise issue, add to that our room was right next to the busy highway. We were pleasantly surprised and a little astounded that the windows cut out almost 100% of the outdoor noise! These windows are truly incredible. We opened them up to get a bit of fresh air and the difference was evident.
Our room, a smart room single was comfortable and technologically advanced. We each had a nightstand with reading lights, USB port, pad charging and European electrical outlet. There is also a small reading light in the headboard on either side whose angle can be adjusted.
The television was a Smart TV for streaming although we didn’t use this feature.
The bathroom vanity is large with plenty of lighting and electrical outlets.
The water closet included the shower with a large floor drain and retractable shower door.
The shower itself, was amazing. Lots of water pressure in the rain shower head. A very pleasant experience.
Our room had an espresso machine with 4 pods, creamer and sugar as well as 2 tea bags.
The bed chamber area is surrounded by curtains, both sheer and light blocking so you can control the amount of light coming in from outside as well as from the entry/vanity area.
The night of our arrival, we had dinner at the hotel’s aptly named restaurant, The Roof.
From The Roof, you can choose either an airport view, which we enjoyed during dinner, or a city view like we chose the following morning.
Having been away from the USA for a month we had the burgers and fries with truffle mayo. They were delicious. The bartender made my husband a custom cocktail at his request, a spicy margarita which he said was delicious. I had a glass of Pinot Noir.
The breakfast buffet the following morning was divine; home baked breads and pastries, eggs prepared in a variety of ways, bacon, sausage, waffles, pancakes, fresh fruit, cheeses and cold meats as well as cereal with a variety of dried fruit and nut toppings. We were able to choose from multiple bread toppings ranging from fresh fruit spreads to jams, peanut butter, Nutella, a variety of butters, and honey straight from the honeycomb.
The wait staff brought endless cups of espresso and cappuccino. This bright and open space is where we chose to pass much of our morning, taking in the view and relaxing in the comfortable chairs.
The view was calming as we stared across the massive green space with the city skyline as a backdrop.
The fact that we wound up here by chance was not lost on me and the experience we had with b’mine helped create a feeling of gratitude rather than annoyance that our eventual arrival home was delayed by more...
