Smart Stay Hotel Frankfurt — Hotel in Frankfurt

My experience with Scope Hotel City Stay Frankfurt has been nothing short of a disaster, and I must urge all potential guests to steer clear of this establishment. I cannot emphasize enough how utterly disappointed and frustrated I am with the hotel's total lack of professionalism and responsiveness.

Our troubles began when we mistakenly booked a room for the wrong dates. Realizing our error, we attempted to cancel our stay over a month in advance. Despite multiple attempts to contact the hotel, including emails and phone calls, they simply chose to ignore our requests. This blatant disregard for our concerns is unacceptable, especially when we made the effort to reach out well ahead of our stay.

Desperate to resolve the issue, we contacted Booking.com for assistance. Unfortunately, even with their help, we were unable to get in touch with the hotel. After nearly two months of trying and one month after our stay, neither Booking.com nor we had managed to establish any communication with the hotel. This level of incompetence is not only mind-boggling but also inexcusable.

It is difficult to put into words the sheer level of frustration we have felt throughout this ordeal. Not only have we been inconvenienced and ignored, but we have also been left in the dark without any resolution or even the slightest acknowledgement from the hotel. This demonstrates an appalling lack of customer service and a complete disregard for the needs of their guests.

I implore you to stay away from Scope Hotel City Stay Frankfurt. Their unresponsiveness and negligence have left us feeling disrespected, and the overall experience has been a complete nightmare. Save yourself the headache and book your stay elsewhere – anywhere...

I would not class this as a 3 star but maybe a generous 2. The location may be close to the central train station but it's in the middle of the red light district and the neighbouring houses are hotspots for homeless people and druggies. They don't approach you or anything but as a woman I still felt unsafe walking past half passed out people and men coming out of sex clubs. The hotel itself was somewhat decent, the room was spacious but badly lit with some dust in the corners. There's bad sound isolation so we heard arguments in the street in the middle of the night very clearly. The bathroom light just shut off while I was using the toilet and wouldn't turn back on. The TV didn't work and when we went to ask reception the guy shrugged and said it wasn't working in the entire hotel. The Wi-Fi was only available in the lobby and didn't seem very secure. When we came back to the hotel in the evening, our room card wasn't working so I had to go to reception and the guy barely even looked at me, just asked for my room number, fixed the card and handed it back to me without another word. We already didn't like this hotel the night we arrived so we booked a different hotel (also a 3 star but so much better) to check in to the next day. Very good location. 2-3 blocks from Frankfurt (Main) Hauptbahnhof. Heating worked perfectly the room can get super warm if you want. Super hot shower that was an A+. Clean towels. Spacious room for you to open your luggage. We even had a balcony so no need of a mini-bar, just leave your stuff outside and winter will do its job. The best part: the breakfast. A variety of options. Coffee, tea, bread, fruits, yogurt, scrambled eggs, cereal, Nutella.

I checked many reviews of this place before staying and in my perspective I can guarantee one thing. You’ll feel insecure if you’re a little snowflake. Come on. Wake up. You’re in Frankfurt-Germany. I’m from South America and listen: this place is not even close to be dangerous. Really. How can you be afraid of homeless people? You’ll find this in every big city. Relax. It’s not even the Hotel’s fault. But ok. If you’re mommy’s little princess I get it and I respect.

I’m not giving a 5-star because the only thing that didn’t work was our cable TV in the room. But everything else was fine.

Good hotel. Good price. Great location....
