Oy veh! (ist mir, und nicht nur mir...) What a disappointment!
So, this is what we ordered:
2 Blue Tea Limo (250ml à €6) - yeah, sounds interesting but was totally boring = 1 small sad peppermint leave swimming in dull red tea... just bla.
1x Sabin with Merguez = shriveled up supposed-to-be Merguez with strong mutton taste - unedible... alongside dried-out Pita bread, eggplant with a strong taste of rancid oil, 2 teeny-weeny potatoes, a dribble of Hummus ...
1x Oxtail Ravioli with Polenta - Polenta the one and only edible part of the entire meal - nice and creamy. The bland Ravioli (Pasta not even salted!) stuffed with dry Oxtail meat, stringy and tough and not seasoned at all! On top fried oyster mushrooms - just like the eggplant - tasted strongly of rancid oil.
Then of course we had to try the much-talked-about Cauliflower - dry, dry, dry & partially burnt.
The Restaurant could be a modern Vietnamese Place or Thai or whatever, mixed Industrial Style make-believe Vintage - I'm sure there are people who'll feel alright in such design.
Address: Niddastraße is in a scary real-life Hauptbahnhof area - reminding me of B-Picture crime series with terrible actors playing Junkies, fighting and screaming...
So, yes I'm very disappointed... was really looking forward to delicious food and a comfy place - no way...... Not even the music was interesting - radio music stuff...
Please get your act together - for the sake of wonder- and colorful jewish food and culture! (trip to jewish Places in Berlin, N.Y., Tel Aviv - even Paris, could be a training-event for you patrons).

Dear James, I had written this review in the beginning of 2019. Can't understand why it popped-up now, this late....?! But never mind. Hope you do have your act together, by now. No need to convince...
Read moreWe were so glad we had a chance to experience this! We were in transit overnight and just happened to be staying at the hotel next door. We didn’t have a reservation but were told we can have a table for 1.5h.
The staff was attentive and took our orders quickly. We had to spend some time studying the menu — all the items sounded delicious! My friend was new to this type of cuisine but was open to try new things. We wanted room for desserts and so we decided on the beef tartare and the black baba.
The tartare was DELICIOUS! Super flavorful and there was some spices mixed in. The meat tasted like they were aged a bit because of the meaty flavor without tasting gamey. The bread on the bottom with the meat provided a perfect mix of textures. We absolutely loved it. It looked small when it came in but it was quite filling in the end with the bread.
The babaganosh was delightful as well! The octopus was grilled perfectly with a hint of smokiness and yet they’re soft in the mouth. The babaganosh with the tomatoes matched perfectly.
We were looking forward to trying the ice cream but was disappointed that they didn’t have that available that day. But we ordered the pudding and I really enjoyed it. We appreciated the amount of time it must take to prepare that. The crushed pistachio on the top again made the otherwise typical dessert with extra layers of flavor with the mix of textures.
I love the modern decor and this places seems very popular with the locals (very good-looking locals :)) Judging by the “reservations required” from Google Maps. But I’d say if you’re in the area you should just drop by to see if they could seat you. The food was definitely worth it.
This was such an unexpected find that it closed out our trip very nicely! Thank you and highly...

Now the negative: There is only one, and that is related to the payment of the bill towards the end. I wanted to pay for the drinks and the food was to be split evenly, requiring me to do some calculations. Now as I recall to the best of my memory, there were around four other tables, none requiring immediate attention. So I asked the waitress to give me a pen and started calculating the amount. The waitress seemed to be irritated by this, as this was not going 'normally' and her displeasure was obvious. I was disappointed by this behaviour. I had a certain agenda in mind about payment of the bill, plus it wasn't that the place was overly full and the staff was on their toes. All it would have taken from her is some patience. After a few minutes we were done and left. I am being this harsh because this place is not your average restaurant. Here one can and should expect a good service. The evening took a great start, but then the end suffered a nose dive. The two stars are deducted for the nose dive.
But on a side note, mentioning again, the food was tasty. The hummus was particularly tasty, like the one we had in Tel Aviv! If you're there try the hummus with lamb, you'll not regret it. You can see the pictures and judge by yourselves. We ordered three dishes and took pictures of just two as we were so deep in our...
