CHEATS! BEWARE! Charged higher than the menu price.
After the meal, we asked for the bill. The waiter did not provide the bill but just showed us the total amount on the card reader, I asked to see the bill and he was reluctantly just showing me his screen on the card reader. I let it go, trusting them to not tamper with it. After paying, we realised the price charged was much higher than on the menu. We calculated the total ourselves and they charged 20% higher. (Now makes sense why they didn’t give us the bill so we couldn’t see their cheap tactic). Later we enquired and they just said they increased the prices “recently”. Mind you we were there just 2 weeks ago, and in the event on a price increase it is the restaurant’s duty to make sure it is communicated/ properly displayed on the menu. We then asked for the bill for our records. Also what kind of weird prices are 10,59 or 16,54 or 4,76 - a complete scam.
Find attached the pictures of the menu vs the bill.
I then went upto them to say that they were cheating the customers like this, and they were quite reluctant without a word of acceptance or apology. Shameful truly.
Always check the bill before paying, trusting doesn’t work here.
The person who served us was quite unpleasant from the beginning.
We ordered starters that arrived after the main course, that’s fine and can be easily looked past. We liked the food.
This was our second time here and this was an extreme disappointment. We will not be going there again after this bitter experience.
Our first time was wonderful, Mr. Vishal who wasn’t there today unfortunately, was very...
Read moreI was here for Diwali dinner tonight. Amazing experience. Unforgettable evening.
Food — Being an Indian myself, I loved the taste of the food. Purely Indian taste.
Service — Very friendly staff. They gave us a very warm welcome, and gave us seat choices (which I like). Gaurav was going to attend us and the moment he heard me talk in my mother tongue, he turned to Mr. Daksh (who also belonged to the same region as me). And then Mr. Daksh attended us so that we can communicate more comfortably. He patiently waited for us to decide and gave us very nice recommendations. Staff is amazing. Customer comfort is their priority. They constantly make sure if everything if okay for us.
Atmosphere— For me, it was soothing and beautiful. With very good choice of Bollywood songs being played at a very soothing volume (not too loud that makes you scream and interrupts your conversations, but loud enough that you can take a break to enjoy your favourite songs) , it was a perfect Diwali evening for me.
Price - Lastly, the most important thing, the pricing. It was normal price, just as any other Indian restaurant in Germany. As a student for me everything was worth the price. Specially the Mango Lassi.
Thank you so much Mr. Daksh, Gaurav, Miss Niyati, and all the wonderful staff of DalRoti for ‘Ghar jaisi Diwali’🪔....
Read moreNo. Sorry. Will not be going here again. And this is NOT the standard you should expect for Indian food in Frankfurt. There is such variety of really good Indian food available on Kaiserstrasse, that makes me wonder why one would want to walk through the most sketchy part of Frankfurt to sample Indian food that is sub-optimal at best. As a Malayali who grew up eating fish Moilee and can cook a decent Moilee myself, I was pleasantly surprised when I saw this item on the menu of an Indian restaurant outside India. I thought I'd give it a try and my description of the dish (as it is meant to be) also convinced my friend to sample the dish. Fish Moilee is one of the most delicate and delectable dishes of the Syrian Christian cuisine and I'm sorry to say that what this restaurant serves is an abomination! There is no coconut milk, there is nothing in it that even gives a hint of coconut! It's a generic angry looking, really spicy red curry, and the spices are not even cooked properly! Please don't serve this dish if you do not know how it's made and how it's meant to taste. The rice was alright and the Pakoras were fine. Never going back. I feel really bad that my friend had to experience not-great-at-all Indian food in Frankfurt, when there's much better available on a parallel (less...
