Sad to say that this is my first real negative review. We stayed there this week for just one day and were a little shocked to find that we had been given a room without a bathroom, so asked for another which we got without a problem. ||||Checking out next morning was with a different person (manager) and he couldn't find us on the hotel room list, so we explained that we had switched rooms and asked to pay. ||||Being physically confronted in the hotel lobby by the manager because he took offence that we didn't like the room was a bit much, being told that we should have picked another hotel if we were unhappy was extreme, being accused of not wanting to pay the difference (which we didn't know there was at that time) was offensive. ||||We tried several times to tell him that the room was OK and that there was no issue and just wanted our bill, but that failed. He insisted on being an idiot. ||||We eventually got the bill which turned out to be massive (not) £8 difference. ||||As it turned out, the hotel was OK. The rooms and bathroom were in need of updating, but nothing too extreme. Location was good too, but unless you like being confronted in a hotel lobby by a loudmouth offensive manager, I'd give it a miss.||||Lubeck is well worth a visit. Great place, brilliant Christmas Market and fab restaurants, just make sure you lodge...

Read moreI chose the hotel because of its location close to the railway station and opposite the bus station. And because it was easy to walk into town. I travelled solo but booked a double room, as I find that single rooms in Germany can be a bit claustrophobic. The double room was just right. It was neat and tidy, and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was also very clean, but its size was extra small. It did have a heated towel rail, though, which would come in handy in winter. It also had a hair dryer. There was a small cake of soap and a sachet with shower gel. This was not replenished, so if you are planning on a longer stay you might want to bring along your own toiletries.||||My room was not serviced on the Saturday, not a big deal, but I had hoped for a fresh supply of shower gel. I tried to contact reception on their so-called emergency number, but the phone just kept ringing. When I tried the mobile number I was told to try again later. This was in the afternoon! Heaven forbid if I had lost my keycard, or if it had malfunctioned! ||||For reception not to be contactable is unacceptable. I'd therefore not recommend...
