Important note if you are staying here! In order for the lights, A/C or electricity in general to work in your room YOU MUST LOCK YOUR DOOR FROM THE INSIDE. They have a mechanism in place where locking your door will turn the electricity on for the entire room, without this you will be scratching your head why things don't work.
This is a 3 star hotel, please keep this in mind as you read the following. The hotel doors are locked, so if you are entering or leaving a staff member will let you pass. They seem to be on standby 24/7 so don't worry about arrival times. We were on the 5th floor with a great view of the building next door's wall đ. Apart from the view the room was clean and tidy, with en suite and A/C. The shower had an interesting setup, positioned above the middle of the bathtub and not on the left or right side as per usual, regardless it had decent pressure and no issues with temperatures. The bed was quite stiff, though nothing too uncomfortable, we each had two pillows and a thin blanket and an ever thinner sheet; no issues with this as the evenings were toasty. Lastly the A/C, apart from temperature settings, the rest of the buttons are screwed shut, so no air flow or angle adjustments are available.
The staff have been extremely kind and helpful, always happy to answer any questions or point you in the...
Read moreBEWARE! Do not stay at this hotel! Worst experience in Greece. The staff is extremely rude. We asked for a box lunch since our ferry was leaving before breakfast time. They said it was ok but forgot to prepare anything and offered us hot coffee and tea without to-go cups, and cake from the day before. Our room was dirty, we found spiders, hairs on the bed, and a half-eaten sandwich in the mini fridge. They will police your use of stuff, they lock the toilet paper inside a cage so you don't use too much. The thermostat is also caged and set on the lowest fan, it was 38°C and we couldn't get the room to cool down. Our TV didn't work. They don't allow outside deliveries so you have to eat at their overpriced restaurant. Finally, if you want to leave your luggage in storage they will charge you 3 extra euro per locker when every other hotel we stayed at does it for free.
The location is not the worst. Close to the train station and the metro. But it is not worth it. Buses and taxis in Athens are cheap. Do yourself a favor and stay anywhere else but here. Its rude staff will ruin your holiday.
Finally we are not sure but they might have overcharged us for the municipal tax. We stayed for a few nights at another hotel and they charged us 2 euro per night. Ariston hotel charged us 5 euro per night and refused to give us a...
Read moreI spent two nights at this hotel and my purposw for visit was business. It was definately a poor choice for this kind of trip. But for some people this hotel can be a good option as the price is very attractive as for Athens. Coming there being focused on sightseeing and treating the hotel just as a place to sleep it can be ok to choose it. The hotel is clean, stuff quite kind. The pictures on the internet doesnât show the real condition of the hotel at the moment, and it looks quite worse in reality. The breakfast is really poor, I would even say that I never had worse in my life in any of the hotels. But the food that you can order through the day is pretty ok. On tv you have many programs to choose from but the internet gets very slow around 10-11 pm. It is almost impossible to use it. The bathroom was super tiny and there was no shower gel just soap. The neighbourhood is awful! Yes it is close to the city centre but you are in a place where it is better not to go out when it is dark and during the day you see a lot of poverty. It is really noisy at the hotel as it is located at the very busy street so the quality of sleep...
