Hotel opened this year (2023), so it is brand new. That gives it that special quality, that is hard to come by. It is also quite small, with just 10 or 12 very lavishly decorated rooms, and whoever designed it, took care of every little detail in those rooms. Sinks, faucets, lamps... everything was carefully chosen to fit the scene. |(Pictures of the hotel that you will find here on TripAdvisor are accurate.)||Area around this hotel isn't the nicest one in Athens. There are a lot of decrepit buildings in surrounding streets, but the area is very safe, and we didn't have any encounters with hoodlums, drunks, junkies, or anything of that sort. So in that sense, location is not great. |However, from the hotel, it takes just 10 minutes of walk to reach metro station, and about same distance is to the Keramikos Archeological site. In other words, you can quickly reach any of the attractions of Athens, either by walking, or using their cheap metro transport. ||We stayed in a top floor suite, that has a pull-out sofa in the main level, and staircase on the side leads to the upper, where we had a very nice double bed. We used both of those, and they were very comfortable. Pull-out bed was flat. and didn't suffer from any usual problems that I expect from those mechanisms. Linen, towels, all that stuff was high quality. ||Bathroom is well organized, and perfectly clean. ||Balcony is wide, spacious, and it has electric socket - for all those who like to plug in their laptops and work outside. Red brick that you can see on the photos, provides enough privacy and shade, and still allows that mediterranean sun to come through. View from the balcony is not that great, because of the surrounding area, but we did see a couple of green parrots fly by at eye level. Chairs at the balcony are ok, but table we had wasn't great and it was quite unwieldy. Maybe they wanted a table that was heavy enough, so that it doesn't become airborne during storms, but I hated it non the less. ||Breakfast choices are like in every small hotel: limited. There is enough to choose from for a couple of days, and ladies working at the hotel will offer you scrambled eggs, and alike, but.. It's a small hotel. End of story. |Fortunately, there's a good bakery just around the corner, and there are myriad restaurants within walking distance. ||This hotel is a great choice for couples, for families on vacation, and could be a great choice for extended stays - because some rooms (like the suite we had) are equipped with a kitchenette, and are large enough so that you don't start feeling claustrophobic after a few days. ||I love this hotel, and next time I go to Athens - it will be my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVery nice boutique hotel, very nice staff, trendy location. We stayed twice in November, 2024. Two days before heading to other parts of Greece, and then two days before we flew back home from Greece. Excellent location. Easy walking to all historic sites (about 15-30 minutes), close to public transportation (nearest underground is Kerameikos), itās in the trendy area around Gazi and the repurposed Technopolis and the room is super clean, quiet and well organized. The bed in our room (301 and then 201) is in a nook off away from the sofa/lounge area and balcony, so my husband (a night owl) could watch TV while I went to sleep. This is perfect for us. The bed is super comfortable with good pillows and duvet. The towels are large and plush. The shampoo and soap and conditioner all of good quality. The refrigerator keeps things chilled to proper temps. The staff is super welcoming, professional, well informed and helpful in every way. Breakfast was substantial with eggs, toast, yogurt, pastries, cereal, coffee, espresso and more. The air conditioning was quiet, and this you donāt always get in Greece. The room was super quiet, though 301 in my opinion was a bit quieter than 201, and the aroma of breakfast cooking could be detected in room 201. This is not a problem for me, I love coffee brewing. Also, just around the corner are good restaurants in both directions, especially the desserts in a jar from the spot around the corner (I think itās called āsmall platesā, but Iām not positive the name) where I had a salad followed by a delicious dessert in a jar and Joe enjoyed the pork dish. ...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf to put it briefly, I am a fan and will definitely return if in Athens. And here's a longer version. I really enjoyed everything about this hotel. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly - upon check-in, every morning during breakfast or whenever I had any questions (about the stay or travelling in Athens/Greece). They even acknowledged that it was my birthday the day before check-in and left a birthday gift and a card, which was a truly beautiful sentiment that I cherish. The design is very beautiful and somehow truly Greek, without it being cliche. The colours really brought happiness to me every day. My room had a balcony, which was lovely on sunny days. The bed was super comfortable. I absolutely loved the perfume of the shampoo/body wash that they had. Breakfasts were delicious (honestly, best scrambled eggs ever), though, I admit, in this regard the selection of food could wider, but even having that in mind, I was always happy. The area of the hotel is really different from the rest of Athens; while some might find it a bit rustic, I found it very beautiful and charming, full of great places to eat at, interesting to explore and truly lively, seemingly a place full of creative-type locals. The location of the hotel is fantastic - close to the centre and many interesting objects if you want to walk to them and close enough to a metro station if you want to go further (either more central or to the seaside). Also, metro line that comes from the Airport, which is convenient. Just thinking of the hotel makes me want to come...
