UPSTREET Luxury Apartments in Plaka — Hotel in Athens

We booked this apartment for three days. When we first arrived we noticed all the windows were open, then the smell of sewer gas hit us. It was so bad in the bathroom that it made it almost impossible to use. Even with the bathroom door shut, the smell overwhelmed the apartment. After laying down on the bed I realized the bottoms of my socks were black due to the floors. I honestly don’t know if the floors have ever been mopped. The entire apartment floor was covered in dirt, hair and stains. We advised the staff of both situations and ONE DAY LATER they sent somebody up to pour some liquid into the drains, which did absolutely nothing. We asked them if they could send someone to clean the floors and they asked us to send them some pictures. We immediately sent them pictures of the floors and they told us they could have the cleaning crew come THE NEXT DAY. Day three came and went and nobody ever showed up. Now we’re realizing, after reading other reviews, that the sewer smell is an ongoing issue. You can literally smell it in the stairwell as you ascending to the apartment. Perfect location, beautiful apartment, outstanding host! I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting this part of Athens. Everything from the Acropolis and other archeological sites to the center of Plaka and Monastiraki Square - all within 2-20 mins walking distance. Siamo stati nell’appartamento sito in Dionysiou Areopagitou 3, in Atene. Tutto bene , appartamento pulito e tutto in ordine. Unico problema appartamento ha la cucina con una porta che affaccia nel cavedio condominiale usato dal bar di fianco che occupa il piano strada e un piano sotto strada. Questo bar probabilmente usa un montacarichi per portare pietanze da un piano all’altro. Questo rumore continuo non ci ha fatto dormire per 4 giorni. Abbiamo chiesto spiegazioni, ci hanno chiesto di registrare il rumore ma di fatto non hanno fatto nulla. Hanno detto che non sono al corrente di alcun rumore e che potrebbe essere “fuori dal loro controllo”. La porta del cavedio aveva i pannelli di vetro pitturati di bianco ergo estremamente fragili. Mi ci sono appoggiato per errore in quanto pensavo fosse di legno e si è rotto un pannello. Mi hanno chiesto 70 eur per la riparazione che ho prontamente pagato ma credo che un cavedio del genere andrebbe isolato con una porta diversa.
