We reserved this hotel last year via Booking.com (period: August 2014): we chose this hotel because it was in front of the beach - in fact we booked a king size double room with sea view. When we arrived at the hotel. the owner of the hotel told that we didn't have a reservation in his hotel; he told us that we had a reservation in an other hotel of his family.||We told him that he was wrong and we showed him the booking.com reservation. After having seen that, he told us that the government had blocked (to accommodate political refugee - seaside room???) all the rooms in Elena Beach hotel and we had to be relocated in another hotel.||At the beginning he said that the relocation was temporary (1-2 days maximum) - at the end we stayed in the other hotel for all the stay (10 days).||The other hotel:||- didn't have a sea view (was 2 street back) - had a very nice view on the trash bin||- wasn't silent (in front of a supermarket)||- 2 beds instead of 1 bed||- air condition very loud||- dirty and bathroom in bad condition||- reception closed at a certain time||||On booking.com it was written that all credit cards were accepted; at the moment of the check-out the owner said that we had to pay in cash (they didn't have the POS!)... furthermore they did not want to give us a receipt.||||During our last day, we saw that they made the same "game" with other clients: booked in Elena beach and relocated in an other hotel. I think that the Elena beach is the best hotel of the family, they use it as a window to attract customers and after relocate to...
Read moreThe beach staff (one blond short woman) was abusing me with the beach bed, she was beyond rude. I tried to complain to the manager of the hotel but couldn’t reach him on the phone. I complained to her manager who defended her behaviour by saying we rent the bed five times a day and you are staying the whole day! I don’t understand, I paid for my bed, actually they charge you for two beds and I told her you can rent the other if you want but she is simply a racist person and she wanted me out of the beach so she can rent the bed several times Unfortunately I have to put my complaints here because no one was listening to me on the beach. The hotel next to them has better staff and their beach is nice and their service is great I hope the owner of this hotel can see the damage this woman is causing to her hotel reputation and most importantly to the amazing Cretan people who are well known with their hospitality and...
Read moreWe booked this hotel via Hotwire. It was part of our honeymoon. When we arrived there, the man told us that the hotel was fully booked for refugees because of a government law. He had to move us to another place which was further away because the refugees had to stay in front of the beach. (???) The other place was very noisy at night, no beach view, dirty and full of bed bugs. The man gave us bad customer service and unfortunately we decided to go elsewhere since it was impossible to sleep at night there. This was a very bad and stressful experience since we had to change our travel plans and etc. We only hope that other tourists won't fall into the same trap. You have been warned. It was only afterwards that we realized by reading on tripadvisor that this is not the first time that they scam tourists. ||||We also called Hotwire which weren't helpful in dealing with...
