Baralia — Restaurant in Municipality of Chania

The world’s worst staff, if there is a rating in minus I would put it here, there is a Polish short blond mean woman work on the beach she is abusing tourists and charging them full price for beds for full day but then ask them not to leave their beds at all bcoz this is a money loss for her and she can rent the bed several times per day. Basically if you want to go to swim then you have to rent the bed again. When I complained the guy in the bar, her manager, he defended her. And he said you should either stay on your bed all day or leave, when I told him what if I was in toilet he answered how long do you need in toilet!!! Seriously!!!! This was extremely rude and unprofessional and unfriendly. My friend who is Greek told me to call the economic police for this abuse but I am a solo tourist at the end and didn’t come all the way to do troubles, they were trying to abuse me just because I was alone on the beach she reflects a very bad image about the amazing Cretan people who work really hard to give the best image of Crete. On arrival two men sorted our sunbeds. One was very rude and abrupt. My cousin enquired about a taxi the man told her he C is not a taxi man he doesn't know anything. Just being really rude in his tone and super unhelpful. Then later I ordered a Greek salad. I asked for a few extra olives. When I settled my bill I was given no change and told the extra olives cost €3.50. If I was told that from the start I would have enjoyed the 5 in my bowl and that you can't even see picture is below. Instead I was overcharged. No receipt no change and shouted out. Then told to say please for my change. When the man refused to give me my change I went in the restaurant to talk with the manager. The manager continued to shout at me also. I didn't get my change. So had no choice but to leave. I came off my cruise ship to be abused. If ever you're in Crete NEVER come here. I would have hated it if I were with my kids and husband. Perfect beach bar experience 🏖️

Found Baralia Beach Bar on Nea Chora Beach and it became our go-to spot for the entire week! The location is unbeatable - right on the beach with amazing sunset views and crystal clear water just steps away.

Vlad and Mateo behind the bar were absolutely fantastic. They kept our group of girls laughing the whole time and made us feel like regulars from day one. Their caipirinhas are incredible and the frozen daiquiris were perfect for those hot Chania afternoons.

The whole vibe here is exactly what you want from a beach bar - relaxed, fun, with that perfect seaside atmosphere. We loved it so much we came back three times during our week trip.
