Great hotel for couples with a very good location, within walking distance from Chania Old Town and the Venetian Harbour. We stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed a fantastic view. We used the jacuzzi in our room every evening while watching the sunset over the sea. There was no hotel information in the room, so it is helpful to know that you can ask the reception to shut down the jacuzzi for the night. Additionally, the room has various technical functions, like a dehumidifier, which helps to keep the room dry even with the jacuzzi running in the bedroom. At the end of our trip, we also discovered that the shower room can be used as a steam sauna. I highly recommend that the hotel provide some information (booklets, etc.) in the rooms; otherwise, visitors might not know how to use the technical functions.
The breakfast was very good, with changing options each morning, offering different Greek food selections, and it was nice to have fresh orange juice. However, the breakfast room is not the greatest; there's no option to eat outside, and the windows face another building, offering no views.
There is also a public beach just a 2-5 minute walk...
Read moreWe had an overall pleasant stay. The room was very nice and the location is convinent, just a short walk to the Old Town and harbour.
However, there were a few disappointing aspects. On arrival, we were greeted by a very stressed receptionist who informed us that check-in wasn’t until 3 pm, something that hadn’t been communicated beforehand. Our toiletries also weren’t replenished during cleaning, although we asked the reception on two seperate occasions.
The main issue, though, was that the hotel was advertised as 18+ (adults only). Every day, children from neighbouring hotels within the same chain were allowed to enter through the gate and use the pool. When I raised this concern, I was told by reception that it was “allowed by management.” I was asked if I wanted to be contacted by management, but no one ever followed up with me and there was no offer of reimbursement. This felt misleading and was very disappointing given the reason we booked this hotel was to have a child free stay. Instead there were loud parents and children that ruined our stay and we had to leave to go pay for a sun chair away...
Read moreWe booked this hotel through Booking.com because it advertised a private balcony. In our room (number 1), there is no balcony. we were put in a room directly in front of the reception desk. We could hear everything all night: phones ringing, loud guests, shouting, constant noise. There is absolutely no privacy and no quiet.
The door opens directly to a public walkway next to the pool and the window is completely see through, so anyone walking by can look straight into the room. Nothing like the photos or description. Total misrepresentation.
On top of that, the electricity in the entire hotel kept cutting off every few minutes. Completely unacceptable.
The jacuzzi is also controlled by the reception, meaning you have to contact them every single time you want to turn it on or off. Very inconvenient and honestly absurd.
We tried contacting Booking.com several times and received no help at all. Being in a foreign country with zero support is extremely stressful and unacceptable.
To be fair, the breakfast was excellent.
But will...
