Hotel Giannarakis Beach — Hotel in Municipality of Chania

A lovely privately owned family run small apartment block right on the beach. With just 6 apartments and one of them used by the owner, this is a friendly, quiet apartment with great sea and pool views. The balcony is large and also includes a further small balcony at the front of the apartment which benefits from the sun in the afternoon. The pool is a great size, with an additional small child pool. As there only 5 apartments rented out at any one time there are plenty of sun loungers. The pool leads straight onto the beach so you have the best of both worlds. ||WiFi works well and is included in the price. There is a decent supermarket (Dias) a short walk away open 8am -9pm. Plenty of restaurants to choose from along the main road. A bus to Chania is regular and costs €1.80 per adult with children free. You can catch just outside the supermarket.||The Esperides hotel next door is operated by the same family and the pool bar is excellent for snacks, meals and drinks. They show all sports...

The room itself was spacious enough and quite clean. But we did notice some weird sort of behaviour from the owners. They seemed to be quite nosy, always peering to see when we get in or out of the room. Also we noticed that we had to explain or confirm the same thing more than once, due to the lack of communication between the owners/managers. Not necessarily a bad thing, but it was sort of unpleasant.||The only actual problem that we faced was due to the fact that the room had central air conditioning and not A/C units. Hence not really efficient or effective. We had to be standing almost still in the room if we didn't want to...

What a wonderful gem of a place. The host can not do enough for you, waiting up until 2am to welcome us after a flight delay. The apartments are clean, spacious and modern. The pool area is clean and well maintained. The beach is literally steps away. Located at the quieter end of Stalos there are mini markets and delicious restaurants nearby (avoid the one at the end of the driveway though! Terrible food and service) the cafe opposite is excellent serving a range of plates including lots of vegan options. I will definitely be back here....
