So. myself and 2 of my friends have just returned from 10 days in Hersonissos, a bit of an older lads holiday; mid to late 30s. We wanted somewhere near enough to the beach front, the bars, restaurants, marina etc but just very slightly out so we could basically pick and choose what we wanted to do. We arrived at the apartments around 11pm and met the receptionist Cornelia who checked us in and advised us where we could get something to eat at that hour before we went out for a few drinks. (Valentinos which is a bakery/greek grill house. Very nice and also well priced and what we wanted at that time of night.) The previous tenants of the room had caused a bit of damage to the television and lost the safe key prior to us checking in. (Not reflective of any other persons we saw staying in the apartments; these things happen I'm afraid). We werent bothered about the TV, but the safe was an issue. Anyway we got back and the key was found and we could store valuables in the safe so no problems there. We came down the next day asking for some advice on the local area, the staff were very very helpful. They advised we tried old Hersonissos of an evening to visit some more traditional Tavernas which we did on most nights following. The foods much better than on the front in general and the atmospheres great. Taxi is a must; the hill up to it is a good trek and would probably take about 40mins and coming down after copius meat, Mythos and Raki probably not advised. Its about 7 euros; nothing. So anyway, one major factor of this very good review; I mentioned earlier the staff. Apart from being incedibly helpful in general, Cornelia, who was the front of house, who we mainly spoke with, was amazing. It was my birthday when we were over there and this was mentioned in passing. A knock on the door later that night and a scurrying of feet. We open the door to find a box and a letter. "Happy birthday, with love, Cornelia." (A boxed chocolate birthday cake from Valentino's bakery as it transpires - it was amazing). I have no doubt this was bought out of her own pocket. Such a lovely and unexpected touch which made the holiday experience so much better. There was no need for anyone to do such a thing, we were merely paying guests and the staff were already incredibly helpful and friendly and would provide whatever needs in keeping with a the requirements of an apartment stay without ask. So, as the next day was my birthday, we went out for the day and celebrated. The cake was left the night before so upon return went to the fridge, brought it down and shared it with Cornelia and other holiday makers staying at the apartments. Happy birthdays were sung and Metaxa was drunk. Brilliant. On another side nte; check out was the follwing day. Normal check out is 12; we were allowed until 3pm with no additional charge. Bags were safely stored for us until the taxi picked us up from the front of the block at 6 and 10. Brilliant, would defintely retun to the island and Hersonissos and stay at Fedra again....
Read moreI stayed here for four days. The air conditioning has not worked this entire time and the room is so hot that we can not stand being in the room for more than ten minutes until we are covered in sweat. Since the air conditioning is not working, it causes me to have flare ups with my psoriasis. I have complained multiple times and nothing has been done. I even called the owner and he hung up on me. Initially, when I entered into the room this terrible odor struck me. The balcony lock does not even lock. On the white sheets, there was yellow urine stains all over. After I asked to have the sheets changed, they told me that they change sheets and towels every two-three days which is disgusting and unsanitary. The toilet is broken and you can not even sit on it without it moving. The shower also floods the bathroom floor, which makes it extremely slippery. The pictures of the apartments and pool look nothing like they do in pictures by the way. This place is absolutely horrendous and a catfish. If you want to sweat in your own smelly room, then go ahead and stay here!!! This place does not have any of the amenities it states online and does not even deserve to be a...
