Ammos Restaurant Cafe Bar — Restaurant in Municipality of Chersonissos

Well, the beach is nice, probably the best one I’ve been to. Not sandy, but with small pebbles and clean water. This is the only good thing in the following review that you will read.

We went there 3 times during our 8 days vacation. And we probably would’ve went more if they were not the worst.

First day: rented 2 sunbeds, 14 euros, decent I would say, in the second row. Ordered a cola and a frappe, all good.

Second day: rented 2 sunbeds in the third row. Ordered one cola, one beer, one water, a fruit salad and the gyros tortilla. The fruit salad was meh, not the best I ate, fruits were kinda tasteless and with weird texture. The gyros tortillas?? HORRIBLE, HORRENDOUS! Meat was lacking flavour, which is surpring because it’s hard to mess up chicken, but they did it. The poor chicken that was in our tortillas was probably whirling in hell seeing how it got massacred. The vegetables were frozen, again shocking because it’s the middle of the summer and you can get at any corner fresh tomatos and cucumbers, but well, they decided to cut cost, and it shows. The fries were frozen, not really surprising since not many restaurants use fresh made fries. The sauces were in little pockets, not terrible because they didn’t get to ruin those since they were store bought. Food opinion : Total GARBAGE! Overall cost : aprox 45 euros. Definitely not worth!

Third day (and last): Went there at 10 am, were were escorted to the first row of sunbeds. We were definitely not wanting to order any food since we convinced the last time that the quality was really low. 1 hour later, I ask for an ashtray. I waited another hour until the other waiter came, and I asked again. Another 30 minutes passed, he finally comes with the ashtray, but with a twist! He tells me that because we are staying in the first row, we need to order food for lunch with the value of MINIMUM 50 EUROS!! I was mortified! I woke up my fiancé and I kindly asked the waiter to explain to him what he just said to me. AND HE CHANGED THE CONDITION (maybe he got scared of my fiancé or something) and he told him that we must order food for lunch. We said no, nobody told us that we needed to order food if we stayed in the first row, and if they did, there were plenty of other sunbeds in the other rows and we could’ve sat there, but no. He then said mockingly to us that he got 10 other people wanting to sit on their beach and he moved us to the third row, on 2 sunbeds that had their mattress rotten and ripped, with no umbrella. He even had the courage to ask us if we want to order anything, we said we want an umbrella, since they had plenty. We sat there for 20 minutes, with nobody coming to install an umbrella there, I got sick from the heat and direct sun, and we decided to leave. Suddenly, the other waiter came to us to pay, looking at us like nothing happened. Horrible, and ruined our beach experience.

The hostess was really aggresive on the street, trying to lure you there at any price. After the third day, we passed by a couple of times but he didn’t really bother to say anything to us. Maybe he was ashamed too, idk.

In conclusion, save your money, don’t go there. Food = horrible, Service = terrible, Staff = horrible, lying and aggresive.

There are plenty of nice beach bars near there, maybe they are nicer and they have better food and service, I don’t really know because I didn’t went to other places because of the horrible experience we had. But to be honest, anything is better than this terrible place.

Went here twice on our holiday. The first time was very enjoyable we sat and had lunch in the restaurant the cocktails were very good and the food was decent, even though we kept getting brought food and drinks that weren’t ours so turned them away. The second time was quite different with us staying on the sun beds by the sea. We had ordered some food and drinks, the drinks had taken 40 minutes to arrive but they were very busy and seemed understaffed so it seemed fair. Baring in mind we had ordered the food and drinks at the same time the food didn’t come out for another 40 minutes later as we watched other customers who had ordered after us receiving multiple different orders of food. The waiter kept telling us it would be one moment over and over, and how the new ‘crazy staff’ had given our food to someone else. When the food arrived he apologised and said we wouldn’t have to pay for the food. When we got up to leave and asked for the bill we found it was still on the bill. We asked why it as still on there as we were ensured it wouldn’t be on the bill to which he responded he never said this. This Put a huge dampener on our day and as me and my girlfriend have worked in hospitality before we understand how things can be busy and be misplaced but at the end of the day the customer should be put first which we were not and we were still being brought things that we didn’t order which were other...

Basically - Tourist trap.

Short story - when you rent sunbeds you need to order food and drinks obligatory (they don't tell you that :) ) and when 6pm hits the clock they tell You that the beach is closing and You need to move to different sunbeds.

Long story - We all know that we like to use the sunbeds on those beaches .. We came in the morning, one of the waiter/employee came right away to welcome us and tell it's ok to book the sunbeds.

Small fact - sunbeds are property of the restaurant as well as the beach so they are menus on the small tables and he said that we can order something if we want so he will keep the check open.

Nice day, wind in my hair, sun on my body - just chillin and then he comes and starts to say that we need to order something because it's not possible to only rent the sunbeds - drinks and food are must (!!!) because it's restaurant and he said that in the morning.

No You didn't Sir - maybe in your head.

We wanted to order anyway but later so that is what we said and the waiter started to raise his voice - not appropriate due to the fact that You are talking to the customer that is putting money into the restaurant that You work in.

Then the argument that he is not the boss and he is sorry. too little too late.

Nice place because there is a nice view but atmosphere after that was different.
