As I write this review, we are here at the Heronissos Hotel five days into our ten day holiday. We arrived late due to flight delays and got to the hotel at 2am Tuesday. George the night shift staff was brilliant, a lot of people arrived at once and he managed the arrivals well. We were taken to our room and George helped with our luggage. So the initial room we had was not what we had expected, clean, but basic. I must stress that this was not in anyway the hotels fault. We booked through Love Holidays and this is their promo room (also nothing like the pictures Love Holidays show you). So as it was late and we were tired we spent the night. In the morning I spoke with the lovely hotel manager, explained our disappointment with the room & the lack of honesty from the travel agent. She agreed & said that they had much better recently refurbished rooms we could look at. After seeing the other room & it being more what we wanted, we paid £170 extra and moved. The new room is lovely. Three of us are here, two adults one child. The room immaculately clean and well presented, bathroom lovely with fully working air conditioning, smart TV and tea/coffee facilities. The rooms, corridors and whole hotel are cleaned daily. Everyday our room has been made fresh. The beds have been comfortable for us, but this is always subjective. To clarify, I am very picky when it comes to cleanliness and hygiene. Despite some of the negative reviews stating they have had dirty rooms and seen cockroaches, we have had nothing other than a lovely clean rooms and haven't seen any pests. The food. Just wow. I'm a foodie, love food and the food here is amazing. Freshly cooked daily. Yes, there are some foods they have out each day, but there is something new on offer everyday, including local dishes. There is beer and wine available at lunch and dinner, and despite being machine made, the coffee is very nice. The food is well made and cooked with lots of variety and flavour. The pool and bar are very nice. There has been no limit on how many drinks we can have, just that you can only order one drink at a time per person, which makes sense. Regular bar snacks are also brought out Note there is a dress code for the dinning rooms, just appropriate clothes and not topless. The staff are amazing, the manager is lovely, approachable and very keen to give the customers a great stay. Katia, our cleaner is lovely and works so hard like all of the staff. All the staff are very keen to give the best possible experience and all work hard, most doing seven days a week for the summer season. George the night manager/security is brilliant and approachable. There is a mix of families here and teens/younger folk here for a party. There have been some issues with the younger people being too loud in the corridors and there rooms while drunk at night on occasion, however you dial zero on the phone and George/security arrive and deal with them. From what we have heard from people staying at other hotels here, younger drunk people are am issue everywhere here They have even kicked some out of the hotel this week for breaking hotel rules. If they don't know they can't help you. We haven't had to fight to get a sunbed or chair during the day, the hotel do their best to stop people reserving them, however we have prefered using the beach. The hotel also has a nice well stocked shop which has been useful The local beach is less than two minutes walk from here, lots of restaurants, shops etc to see. There are cash machines almost every twenty meters and the locals much prefer cash. The hotel has good deals on local trips and the water park, which we've booked and it's cheaper with transfers via the hotel. We were worried about some of the negative reviews we had read from July 2024, however our experience has been nothing other than very positive. We will definitely book and come back, hopefully next year. We are very happy with the hotel, room, food.and experience. With all of our travel experience over the past twenty plus years we would agree with the 4 star rating

My experience at the Hersonissos Hotel (be mindful that it’s totally different from Hersonissos Palace). The hotel has only been open back up for 6 months since the refurbishment therefore, I don’t believe that -all the good reviews are genuine. The Hotel The hotel is located in a convenient location between the strip and sea. Giving you under 5 minutes walking distance to get to both. The hotel is split into blocks, the main part has the newly refurbished rooms on the 1st and 3rd floor. I would describe the 2nd floor as the ghetto (literally). The refurbished rooms are not done to a high standard and a lot of things don’t make sense such as the position of the shower, the bathroom space and lighting in a lot of the rooms. I had to change rooms three times even though I was upgraded. The lifts are very small so be careful when using them. The other section is across the road and has a small pool that only 5 people can fit into comfortably. The WiFi is very weak. The main pool is ok, but the grass area beside the bar needs cutting down. There is only one outside bar in the hotel which closes at the 11am, I wonder if it rained where would guest get a drink from? The quality of the all inclusive drinks are extremely poor quality. However, the beer is ok. The hot drinks come from a vending machine and don’t even fill halfway up the cup which is another downfall. The views from the main part of the hotel do not give you sea views. The best view would be towards the pool, which can be noisy when it’s busy so this is not the spot for a relaxing holiday. There is only one public toilet in the whole of the hotel which get dirty really quick. This is not helpful for people who are checking out and have a late stay. I did not experience this personally, but know couples who had cockroaches in their rooms, I also know about flooding from showers. This was in the economy areas. The superior rooms are a working progress and a lot better than the rest of the hotel. Stay at the front of the building if you want peace and quiet. Overall rooms 5/10 Food: The chefs and waitress take pride in the food and keeping the dining area clean, there is only one restaurant. The food is Greek cuisine, so be prepared. Breakfast never changes the opinions are the same such as bacon and eggs. I noticed that spaghetti bolognese is on the menu for dinner every day. However, you get a selection of fish, meats and vegan options. The drinks are 3/10 cocktails and wine tastes cheap. After a while I began to eat outside, the local Italian restaurant is amazing and a must try. Because everyone is in the same boat you do meet some good people here which is helpful. Overall, this is 2 star hotel with bed, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Please note that there are no snacks throughout the day and you’re restricted, no food allowed in the rooms. But there is a shop on the property which you can purchase snacks, drinks and toiletries. You also need to pay tourist tax, I did not realise George had charged me an extra 20 Euros for the safe so be sure to get a receipt as they want it in cash. I am in the view that this was misleading hotel. If you’re looking for a cheap hotel fine but this is not luxury.

Room Where do I start… first we were given a superior room for the night. The room was very small, so we were feeling apprehensive of what the normal room looked like. The rooms online look COMPLETLEY different to how they do in real life. We spent the night in here. Then we went to reception and were asked if we wanted to upgrade to pay 20euros extra a night.. we declined this and went to our standard room. Our room had a very small balcony, crumbling walls, a shower that flooded, a smell like sewage. A mysterious yellow substance on the sink. We then complained and rhey said “this is what you’ve booked so” and we explained we’ve paid a lot of money (900) total package holiday. And feel disappointed. The man then sent someone to check the room- nothing was done. My friend then spoke to who we think was the manager and she sorted a different room out for the next day. This room was better yes. However, it still had a crack in the sink, shower flooding and a balcony where your near enough sat with your neighbours. But, it was a little bigger. We didn’t complain about this room, as we realised it wasn’t going to get any better so we may aswell put up with it. The shower would go boiling hot, air con would turn off randomly, and the smell was awful. Paper thin walls, you can hear absolutely everything even in early hours of the morning. We were put on the 3rd floor, told we would get help bringing our luggage up.. as they had no working lifts (we didn’t get help) Bringing them down, staff were around with no offers to help. Swimming pool If you didn’t get a claim a sunbed you wouldn’t get one. Overcrowded. Wet around the area, saw people slipping. No lifeguards at all. The receptionist was the security for the area but not at all times. Mostly just chatting or smoking. Never seen the pool be cleaned- it’s dirty. Food & drinks Honestly food was below average. Same thing on rotation every day near enough, never been so excited to eat normal food. Pretty much had the same thing everyday - pork and chips. Tried variety of foods, but really wasn’t nice and didn’t taste safe. Drinks Don’t take nice at all. Cheap alcohol used. Cocktail made with a gun. Asked for pineapple juice- came out of a gun and was horrible. After a day I didn’t have any more alcoholic drinks neither did my friend. Just had orange juice all week. Honestly awful. Never experienced drinks like them. They only had 250ml cups- plastic cups- they flew around when you’d pop them down. With paper straws? No logic. Check out Cut out all inclusive off us, said we can have drinks still, which was fine. Until we discovered they like to pick and choose who they do this to! As we were leaving at 7pm so that means no food for us all day.. but other people got a room for free for the day and food all day. Unfair, no logic. They didn’t pay extra for this either! Told us the day before they’d have a room for us for the afternoon (they didn’t) Overall, please spend your hard earned money elsewhere. I have spent less than this in other hotels and recieved great experience and pleasurable food. This is my first bad review of a hotel. Wish you all luck if you decide to book.

Despicable hotel! DO NOT STAY HERE!! ELECTRICITY TURNED OFF 2 HOURS EARLIER THAN CHECK OUT!! Visited almost 2 months ago and have been back and forth with the travel agents with complaints. With investigation, the hotel lied in the email regarding issues, therefore, case closed. Now onto our stay! We arrived at 4am after 12 hours of travel, to then find out there was no room for us until check in time. (We were not informed) the staff member was drinking vodka, ignored phone calls from our travel agent. We eventually had to beg for a room at 10am as we were on the verge of a breakdown and delirium. We got a tiny room, we had to brush against the wall or climb over the bed to go from one side of the room to the other, no balcony, just a tiny window. Stuff coming from the bathroom drain when we used the shower. Tax was charged cash only no receipt €90. (Also not informed beforehand, yes I checked and triple checked the website before and during our stay) The staff were incredibly rude, cleaners walked into our room with no warning on 2 occasions with a do not disturb sign on the door as we were still catching up on sleep. The food is raw, literally pink chicken which upset our stomachs quite a bit. We were moved from our table because it was reserved for the staff’s friends. The walls were ridiculously thin, you can hear EVERYTHING, pretty sure our neighbours were rearranging their room every night. Had a couple trying to get into our room as they had been given the same number room as we were in, we still had a week left of our stay, luckily they went and sorted it themselves. Room was dirty, even after cleaners were in, we are very tidy people only needed the floor swept, beds changed every now and then, and bins taken. Needed beds changed on Tuesday due to our feet becoming dirty from the floor (yes we wash but the floor was coated in dust and dirt) so stripped the bed, the cleaner told us off because they only change bedding on a Wednesday apparently. Staff member in the shop attached actually growled in anger at us as we walked into the shop as he was enjoying playing a game on his phone. No sun beds free whatsoever, they book too many guests for the space they have, no activities to do at the hotel, bar staff were smoking marijuana chatting with friends and acted as if we’d insulted them by asking for 2 Coca colas, how dare we interrupt their fun time! there were so many other issues, one being on our last day, they switched off all electricity to our room 2 hours before check out time. Probably to get us out quicker- it worked, we needed to charge our phones so we roamed around to a bar on the strip that we enjoyed who let us rest and charge our phones until our flight, which wasn’t for another 14 hours. Please bare in mind we are extremely placid people who were terrified of being kicked out if we so much as made a peep. We tried kindly voicing concerns but that seemed to only make the staff ruder, so we got on with it. We heard many other visitors complaining and being very upset over similar issues. Honestly, spend an extra £250 for a much better hotel. It’s worth it in the long run, we spent over £1000 on this holiday and then another £950 on two people having to go out to eat, go out to do anything during the day. We don’t even spend this much in a month at home. It ended up being a miserable stay with the staff staring giving dirty looks, drinking alcohol instead of helping people. It was a more expensive holiday than going to an actual good hotel. Save your energy, GO...

Overall rooms 5/10

Food: The chefs and waitress take pride in the food and keeping the dining area clean, there is only one restaurant.

If you’re looking for a cheap hotel fine but this...
