We arrived late at night and received a wonderful welcome, which was a lovely start to the trip. The apartment was basic, with a firm bed and minimal kitchen equipment. It was enough to make a toasted sandwich using the provided machine, but cooking a full meal would be impossible. The shower was excellent, with plenty of hot water.||Bins were emptied daily and towels were changed three times during our week long stay. However, no other cleaning was provided, and on one occasion, a bleached towel that appeared to be a cleaning rag was left for us.||The pool area left much to be desired in terms of cleanliness. Although I saw the pool being cleaned once, the decking remained dirty and littered with debris from the day before. A cleaner was visible in the mornings but I didn’t witness any thorough sweeping or mopping during the week.||A major downside was the noise from the apartment above us . We could clearly hear banging cupboards, scraping chairs, and other disturbances from the apartment above. Unfortunately, we had particularly noisy neighbors who stayed up partying until around 6am each day. To the owner’s credit, he did speak to them after we raised the issue, but it still affected our experience.||The sun loungers were firm, and reserving a spot was competitive as many guests put towels out early. There were only six umbrellas available, so you had to be up early to secure shade. The hotel is also on the flight path to Heraklion Airport, and the noise from passing planes might bother some.||The onsite Pella Supermarket was handy and stocked basic essentials but do check the best before and use by dates on the butter!||Local restaurants served excellent starters and Greek salads, but we found the main courses disappointing as the meat was often overcooked, and the moussaka was disappointing. Drink prices were similar to those in the UK (€5.50 for a large beer).||There are numerous stray cats around the resort, particularly while dining outdoors. While generally harmless, they can be territorial. Shockingly, one woman dining near us was sprayed by a cat over her handbag and legs.||We booked this holiday just a few days before departure, and for the price we paid, it was acceptable. However, if we'd paid more, our expectations would not...
Read moreI wish I could have stayed here for ever. I am a well seasoned traveller and so are my group of girlfriends. When we first arrived and was taken to the pool table that was reception, we all looked at each other and thought "what have I done". No need to worry, there's no reception- good. Who needs reception when you have a pool table!!! We were helped with our very heavy cases by two ladies, up the stairs. The balconies were very good, one had a few of the pool and one of the sea, we've booked again and mailed to ask for rooms opposite each other looking out to sea. We paid for the aircon, safety deposit box and green taxes, you need aircon, not sure that we needed safety deposit boxes though, but better safe than sorry. Apartments very clean, have enough of what you want for self catering, but once you taste the Cretan food from the restaurant Pella you won't bother with anything but breakfast in your apt. There isn't a toaster or microwave but there is a hob and sandich toaster, not sure why this is but not a problem for us we toasted our croissants in sandwich toaster. Once you get there, after first day you supply your own loo roll, sounds odd but again it's not a problem. You will understand when you go, it's not a problem, it's another world. If you make a mess in your room the stuff is there you clean it, we loved not getting early morning calls from cleaners, or being disturbed. Towels are changed randomly, and sometimes they are not fluffy and white, but is that a problem, NO. However if you do need any help or something breaks go to the supermarket and either see Pella, who saw you when you arrived or her dad George with the Cigarette in his mouth, they will sort everything. Don't know if all apts the same but there were masses of hangers in wardrobe. Chuck spare blankets on the top shelf and use shelves for clothes. Eleni, Evilitre, Miss Maria and Nikos, hope I haven't missed anyone, You are all wonderful. If anyone wants to know anything else, go visit, but don't take my...

There is car parking at the back of the apartments. The Gouves strip is only a 10 min walk away and overall it’s quite peaceful. There was always hot water and the water pressure was good. ||Cons|For self catering the standards are poor. A hot plate, a scratched toastie maker, 3 knifes, forks and spoons and one broken steak knife. Fridge was not clean and the balcony could barely fit the table and chairs. The beds were not comfortable, pillows were rocks and cleaning team had no sense of privacy and just walk in. ||Bedsheets went moldy if you left a damp towel on the bed. ||We decided to grab a late night snack from the taverna (hot chips) one evening and they were soggy and it took over 30 mins so we decided not to have a meal there. ||The girl who runs the pool bar is nice but the bar is expensive and you feel like an inconvenience by asking for anything.||General points||Aircon and tax were €97 for 9 nights. ||We hired a car and that was great. The beaches closeby are nice. ||If they could simply improve the accommodation or the self catering facilities it would be amazing but it spoilt it for us. ||My 9 year old son said…||The pillows were like sand. The pool was cold, but it was okay since you could get nice and warm very quickly. It was nice and easy to swim in and I had lots of fun playing with my toys in the pool. I would definitely recommend to go in the pool. The room was tight and the cleaners would just walk right without question. We were given not a lot of equipment to use (cooking wise). Now the good things, The 2 pools are nice and had space for swimming. The beach was very nice and i would recommend going there at night when its nice and breezy. The ice cream at the shop was good and so the chips from the restaurant (from my opinion). The AC was good and helped me sleep even though the...
