We had a very nice stay at Marina Beach Crete with our 8 year old daughter. We arrived in the evening and got informed that the hotel was overbooked and that there was our room was not available until the next day. As compensation we were offered fruit and wine in our room as well as two massages free of charge which we happily accepted. For the night we got booked in a nearby hotel, the concierge took us there by car. The next day, well, we waited in the other hotel lobby for 20 minute for the promised pick up back to our hotel which never showed up so we had to take a walk with all our bags since the other hotel didn't offer to take us either. Back at Marina Beach Hotel, the very stressed rezeptionist hardly let us get a word in and didn't really care that they forgot to pick us up even though it was promised. To be fair though, that was the only time I felt completely shrugged off by staff, other than that, friendlyness was always exceptional. Failing to deliver a promised service of picking up a guest who due to overbooking was forced to sleep somewhere else, having them wait around for almost half an hour and then being forced to walk with all their luggage to not even offer an apology later on is simply unacceptable. All hotel facilities were clean and well maintained. While we have definitely seen nicer beaches, it was fine, enough space for the guests but unfortunately no bar at the beach. The rooms were ok, double beds consisted of 2 singles pushed together, not an ideal configuration in my opinion. Rooms got cleaned everyday, also the towels got changed on a daily basis. There are lots of activities for children provided by the international animation team which was simply great. I am referring to the international team exclusively, the French team catered exclusively to the French guests which always seemed to be treated differently to the rest, so be aware of a palpable feeling of self proclaimed superiority by the French who simply were not interested in the slightest to mingle with the rest of the guests, a highly dislikable behavior. Guests were about 40% German, 40% French and 20% from all over the place. No problem with anybody except for the French guests. A distinctive highlight was the food which was great every day. A big shout out to the kitchen staff! In short, a nice hotel with nice staff and great food which I normally would be happy to recommend. Due to the unlikable separation between french and the rest of the world, I would nevertheless choose another hotel for our next visit.

Marina beach is a lovely hotel, we enjoyed 7 nights here in the middle of June, the hotel is situated in a small town with plenty of local shops and restaurants nearby. The pools are large and the hotel offers ample sun beds surrounding them, similarly the beach was kept in a good condition during our stay and we felt very safe at both. The entertainment team make numerous announcements throughout the day, which can be quite repetitive, however this is a minor problem. The snack bar opposite the pool is by far our favourite place to eat in the hotel, it was always kept full and the food offered was warm and tasty. However, I cannot say the same for the main restaurant, we felt the food was rather limited and whilst different each day it still wasn’t quite our tastes so we choose to eat out almost every night. The rooms are spacious with a safe, kettle, hair dryer alongside extra pillows and blankets. The bathroom was nice and modern and with a powerful shower. The issue here lies in the soundproofing in both the balcony doors and noise coming from the corridor, most nights you can hear your neighbours chatting through the walls, equally with the balcony door shut we could still hear almost everything they would talk about if they were outside, couple this with the fact that when guests staying in the same corridor would slam doors and talk very loudly walking to and from their room late at night or early in the morning made us wake up a handful of times during the night. We also found the floors in our room to be dirty most evenings we returned to the room, suggesting housekeeping made a poor attempt to mop the floors. Regardless, I do recommend this hotel if you have a family - plenty for children to do and there is large open spaces to play games. I do not recommend this hotel for couples. Solid 7/10 stay.

We spent six nights at the hotel in a standard double room, which fell far short of what one would expect from a 4-star property. The room had an outdated, unattractive bathroom and an air-conditioning unit from the 1980s that failed to cool the space. After complaining and threatening to leave, we were upgraded to a bungalow. The bungalow was much nicer, with functional air-conditioning that made the 30-degree heat and high humidity bearable. The animation was the most disappointing aspect of our stay. It catered almost exclusively to French tourists, with activities conducted in French and even French flags prominently displayed, which felt excessive. Some of the animators were rude and poorly behaved; one even had the audacity to put out a cigarette at our table while we were eating. The kids’ club was another low point. The young staff members seemed inexperienced and ill-equipped to manage children properly. My daughter sustained multiple cuts on her neck from another misbehaving child, and the staff failed to inform us. They treated her injuries themselves and left it at that. We only learned about the incident when we picked her up. After we complained, the hotel manager issued an apology, but no further action was taken. The food was decent, with a variety of options at the buffet. However, the single restaurant serving the entire hotel led to overcrowding during peak times, which diminished the dining experience. The highlight of our stay was the hotel staff—particularly the waiters and cleaning crew. They were warm, friendly, and went out of their way to make our stay more enjoyable. Kudos to them for their excellent service.

Easter break holiday We visited the wonderful Sol Marina Beach Hotel as a family with our 3-year-old daughter. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and positive energy. Thank you for your welcoming smile Elena and helpfulness Emmanuel. Our room was perfect and spacious. We had 2 single beds so was perfect for our little one to sleep in her own bed. We loved our balcony too. It’s important to mention, I emailed a week before we arrived to request a ground floor room and that is exactly what we got. The communication was quick and always answered all my questions. The resort itself is lovely with many pools including one with slides for kids. The animation team were brilliant and always tried to get us involved in the different activities. Thank you to the Animation Manager, George and Assistant Manager John - you’re doing a great job! The food is amazing - everyday was something different and such a variety of different dishes. A special thank you to Manos who would bring our daughter chicken nuggets or fish fingers everyday! Our most valued part of the holiday was the Kids Club, which our daughter loved so much! Julia & Betty are fantastic entertainers and brilliant with the children. We have been on so many holidays and this is by far the best Kids Club. They took the kids on a pirate treasure hunt and to the beach!! Not to mention all the different arts and crafts they did with the children each day. They had a mini kids playground which my daughter enjoyed so much too! Also the unlimited ice cream!! The kids mini disco was a highlight for our daughter who loved to dance to all the songs and get her face painted every night. The icing on the cake was winning the Music Quiz on our last night!!! The entertainment was great for the adults - caricature quiz, Motown singers, karaoke. We will definitely be visiting Sol Marina Beach Hotel again. The memories we have made here will stay with us forever. Gouves, Crete you hold a special place in our hearts. P.s Havanna has been wearing her animator t-shirt everyday since we have been...

We have just returned from a fantastic holiday at this hotel. We would definitely recommend it others and return ourselves. The entertainment was great and all the entertainment team worked really hard. My daughter loved the kids club and mini disco in the evening. The girls in the kids club were really professional and I always felt happy leaving my daughter in their care. My daughter Juniper especially loved CECILE she was so sweet and friendly and was fantastic with the children. My daughter was really sad to say goodbye to her at the end of our holiday. The kids loved the mini disco and I'm sure we'll be singing the songs and doing the dances for months to come. We shows we watched were very entertaining and professional. The hotel itself is spotlessly clean and very well maintained. Our room was a bungalow room and we found this modern and well equipped. We really liked the pool near our room with the swim up bar. The pools were a bit chilly but that's to be expected in September. It would of been nice if the indoor pool had of been heated as the pools were too cold for my baby. We spent many days on the beach and it was great to have your own private area. We did have to get there early to get a sunbed on nice days. It was a bit windy on our last days so we couldn't go on the beach but enjoyed the pools instead. It would be nice if their was a bar on the beach to get drinks from. The food at the hotel is amazing and always so much variety. We enjoyed all our meals and especially liked the pasta station in the evening. We visited the Isla restaurant one night which included in our all inclusive package. This restaurant is beautiful and has fantastic views but sadly we were disappointed with the food and much preferred the restaurant in Marina Beach. We would definitely return to this hotel if we come to Crete again. All the staff were so friendly...
