While this a pretty little hotel, I do not think it is a five star hotel.
The 24 hr concierge was very helpful with information and requests. She was the best part of the experience. Rooms were pretty but cramped and small. A small shower stood in the corner of the bedroom. Thank goodness the toilet was in a separate room but you practically had to stand on the toilet to close and open the door. Location is tough right now. There is construction around the hotel so it isn't very pretty in the area. It is also loud very early in the morning with the work going on. Getting rides and taxis is a little tricky, given they can't pick you up or drop you off right in front of the hotel. Most of the restaurants more well known are located closer to the water, not near by. Shopping is close, though. There is no pool and they are not affiliated with any hotel that has one. The breakfast on the top floor is a tough sell. They keep the temp at 80 degrees F. They basically serve the same small charcuterie tray every morning with an extra offering of eggs made with anything on the charcuterie tray. The bar downstairs had very limited hours. Second Response - I have no idea what sound proof barrier you are talking about. It was noisy before 8am. Period. There was never a mention of any close restaurants offering discounts. I am amazed at your listing of the breakfast tray...we never got the pie and yoghurt. Everything else was combined in small servings on a 12 x 8 tray. While we were there, Crete's temperature was 92 degrees. We never had 140 degree days...
Read moreImpeccable service! We were greeted upon our arrival with fresh Cretan lemonade and blueberries - delicious! Antigoni at the front desk was very helpful and friendly! She provided a lot of recs and personally walked us up to our room where she provided us details on the room itself. The rooms all had a theme and were very tech-oriented. Everything (lights, curtains, etc.) was controlled by the provided tablet device. The jacuzzi shower was clean and amazing. In addition, this hotel provided a handy phone to use around town, a very convenient perk if you don't have service on your own phone overseas! The room came with free alcohol and some free orange cake slices, which we enjoyed on our balcony with fantastic views of the city. The hotel is located close to the bus stop, ferry terminal, and a lot of other attractions. They also include a free breakfast spread which is AMAZING. We definitely over ordered! They have a shelf in the room filled with local products that you can purchase or even sample for free, and when we checked out, they were generous enough to gift us with a selection! So nice of them! I highly recommend this hotel, and we will book it again if we are back...
Read moreAbsolutely PERFECT. We had an incredible week’s stay at Legacy Gastro Suites. ||The absolute standout at this hotel is the team running everything; you could not hope for nicer people! Professional, friendly and always smiley and chatty, and helpful whenever we needed anything. ||Breakfast was fantastic with fresh food, eggs made to order and great variety - we never got tired of it. ||Our room was beautiful, with a huge balcony, good storage space, and little touches that we always appreciated. Waking up to the sun and stepping out to look over the city and the harbour was beautiful. The room was also always kept super clean and refreshed every day. ||Despite the fact that the hotel is right in the centre of Heraklion and near the flight path for the airport, every night we slept wonderfully; it was so surprisingly quiet! The location is great, you’re a five minute walk from all the restaurants, bars and shops in the city centre. ||We were genuinely sad to leave this hotel, and Heraklion, and hope to be back very soon. Would absolutely recommend anyone to stay here, and another massive thank you to the staff for a...
