Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The air conditioning unit remote was missing on our arrival but the staff worked really hard to find us a new one because there are many mosquitoes at the property meaning it would have been a problem to sleep with the doors open. However mosquito repellent devices are supplied if you are worried, and the problem was sorted in 15 minutes.|The room was cleaned daily with fresh towels and the cleaning lady was lovely.|The room was comfortable and we had no complaints.|Our veranda was very narrow but the view was outstanding.|The pool was fantastic, clean and well appointed. Read moreAs a fully retired software business owner, in September 2019 I decided to relive my own Geek's Odyssey and revisit a few "unknown" Greek Islands that I had discovered 40 years earlier, as a youthful 25 year old, ready to conquer the world. ||||Anyway, on this latest trip I struck gold in finding the Hermes Hotel on TripAdvisor. In a nutshell:||||1. The location and views are amongst the best in the world. No accident that millionaire artists and musicians have built huge mansions just below the Hermes - basically to share the same stunning views and natural beauty of this area.|| ||2. The staff and owner could not be more helpful or friendly.||||3. Great Food available in the Cafe (go for the Greek specials)||||4. Really nice pool, with friendly barman.||||6. Ok for this bargain price don't expect The Ritz, but the rooms are simple and clean, fine for a break in the sun (and expect plenty of that on Ios even in the low season months). ||||7. Any problems I had were attended to by the helpful staff ||or the owner himself without any grumbles - but do allow for the fact that on Ios everything works on Greek time .... but when in Greece do as the Greeks do - be patient,...
Read moreOmg I absolutely loved our stay here. First of all, the owner Nick personally picked us up from the port and dropped us off at the port at 6 in the morning. Him and his staff were so incredibly kind and helpful throughout our entire stay. Our room had a wicked balcony with a view of the ocean, which was even better when accompanied by their Nutella waffles (highly recommend if you have a sweet tooth and love waffles). The room was super comfortable and a great size for 2 of us. The bathroom was very clean and all worked perfectly. This hotel was a 10-15 minute walk down to the beach which was gorgeous and had so much to do, see and eat, and there are also busses that come by the hotel every 15 minutes which also take you to the beach, or take you into town. On Saturdays, for 10 euro, they have an all you can eat BBQ pool party with 1 drink included. The pool is beautiful and has a fantastic view of the ocean. Nick and his team really take a lot of pride in their hotel and work hard to make your experience incredible and they definitely achieved that. I would definitely recommend...
