100% recommend this hotel. |We spent 4 nights here in a deluxe sea view room. We booked directly through the hotel and had better rates this way. ||The whole stay was faultless. Beautiful rooms, clean, with everything that you could need in them. And the views were amazing!||The pool area was so lovely. We went the end of August and not busy. The pool bar made the best Strawberry Daqueri I have ever tasted. The food menu was very good and delicious! Again with more perfect views! ||The staff were the best! They organised to pick us up from the port and take us back for no extra charge. Everyone of them that we came across was so friendly and helpful. |If there’s anything that you need they help to accommodate us. We were staying for a wedding and they got us an iron and board. |They gave lots of helpful tips about local area. |||Only just over 5 min walk down a steep hill. Much closer than it looks on pictures. But there is also the local bus service that stops outside the hotel every 15 mins for only €2. We used this coming back from the beach. ||If we were to stay on this Island again. We would definitely come back! |We are very fussy about where we stay and have stayed in a number of 5 star resorts over the years and we would not have 1 negative thing to say about this hotel. |A lovely, relaxed family run hotel with some luxury! |The pictures do not do this...
Read moreI booked 4 nights but left after the first one. I understand the rate was non-refundable, but the way the situation was handled was very disappointing. The hotel was almost empty, everything on the island was closed, and clearly they did not lose another booking because of my early departure. Still, the staff showed no interest, no flexibility, and no gesture at all. Nobody even asked me the simplest question -why I was leaving, what happened, if something was wrong. A small gesture, such as refunding the unused government/tourist tax (which they charged me for all 4 nights), or offering a breakfast, would have shown at least some hospitality. Instead, there was nothing. Another detail: when I asked for a wine opener, they said they didn’t have one, and even refused to open my bottle at the bar. For travelers: in this period ( end of September ) Ios is practically deserted. Almost everything was closed, and buses run only once per hour and only between the port/airport and the main beach -no service to other villages. The property itself might be fine in high season, but in my experience, the lack of any sincere, friendly attitude from the staff, combined with the emptiness of the island, made me leave...
Read moreVery enjoyable stay with Hotel Katerina. This is a Family run hotel so you know you are going to be treated well. Picked up from the Port and driven 10mins to hotel and on the way given a tour of the town and recommended places to eat and drink along the way. Visiting Greece for 3 weeks moving about the islands and this was a hidden gem for me. Staff were informed I was travelling for my birthday and the room was decorated upon arrival with balloons and a hand written card wishing me a happy birthday. A small gift of miniature ouzo and sweet treats were also left for us. So thoughtful and welcoming. (Thank you Nickola) The hotel was amazing. Pool area is well presented and Geroge was always ready to provide you with refreshments from the pool bar. Breakfast was amazing - had avocado toast. Absolutely delicious and serving was large, washed down with frappe cappuccino Lunch was also top notch, had the summer salad. Very generous serving again would highly recommend 👌.
Hotel is 12min walk to 'Chora' along small road but definitely worth it to capture the views from the look point on the top of the hill. And 15min...
